Default New SSD Front Bumper for SCX10 II

I was looking at this one for my XJ hardbody. But now that you guys mention the trimming it's pretty pointless, stupid decision in my opinion!

I'm not sure everyone will agree with you there, the stock one was HUGE!

When mine gets here I'll line it up with the hardbody for you though. Don't forget that body is a tad smaller than the Axial one. It might work out for you.

Trimming on no trimming anything to get rid of that stock one is a good thing IMO

the trimming is just speculation

we will for sure know in the next couple of days. BUT i`m guessing that there will be no trimming required.. for now until someone gets the bumper and actually installs it the only one to answer that is SSD themselves..cheers

btw i have the front one and i LOVE IT

Haha, I'm at work still.

Worse is that my wife has a "Galentine's" night planned with the lady friends. I have the kids including an 8 month old. I may not get to tinker with this until late tonight. 3 boos for that.

I'll really try and post something tonight.

There you have it

No more speculation ...this bumper will absolutely require trimming of the quarter panel. Still not sure whether to angle down or straight across

No more shoveling up dirt with the rear end

No more hang ups

Tight enough?

its a nice piece we have to trim...then again its all gonna depend on how tucked each individual installs it..

ill probably just trim straight across to have the same look as the front

thanks for the pics!

Cut at an angle first, if you don't like it you can go straight across then.

Kinda bummed there is a gap in the middle like that.
Why not make the bumper flat all the way across?

The SSD bumper is the same across the top as the stock.

What's weird is that on Axial's site, the RTR videos and pics show a body that was trimmed with a little dip in the liftgate to match the bumper. This dip in the liftgate should be there. 1:1 Cherokees have that dip following the contour of the bumper.

I'm more disappointed that Axial didn't cut my RTR how it should be. On a kit, you should be able to trim the liftgate to fit the bumper like 1:1's.

Because when the body is cut correctly that gap is part of the tailgate

Gotcha
Well that makes a little more sense.
I will be changing my rtr body to a kit body soon I think so that will be nice.

I decided to angle the quarter panel for now. I don't think it looks right to me. I can't imagine seeing a real Jeep angled like that. In the 1:1 world, people do trim straight across and through the fenders. Eventually I think I'll do that.

Due to the lights and light bar attached to my other bumpers, I had not yet installed the front until last night.
