Default Total Speculation on the K5 release...

This is all speculation and not backed by any hard knowledge, BUT... Vaterra just announced that the ascender k5 body is done. The scx10ii kit is on sale for $309.... Something makes me think they are tying up some loose ends and getting ready to release a new model. With axial fest coming up, we might see something new coming! I hope it keeps the older ar44 axles rather than the one piece units on the honcho and dead bolt. We can only wait and see

There was a leaf spring SCX10 ii hinted at a couple of months ago. There was nothing saying it was official but Maybe the Axial Blazer will come on that?

You won’t see anything that will replace the SCX10.2, it’s too new of a truck.

At least new AR44 with high pinion gear is 6mm above center and improved ground clearance axles. Even the Vanquish released the new Portal axles for SCX10 II. I guess maybe Axial also would come out with new portal axles for new generation SCX10

TRX4 is making some big waves in crawling. It's not for me, but there is a LOT of innovation in those rigs. Hopefully they shook things up enough to see some new stuff from other mfg's. Remember the ascender forced axial to build the scx10ii... Maybe the TRX-4 will bring us something big out of the merged companies.

Rich from Vaterra is one of the few guys that will shoot straight with the customers and he said the discontinuing of the Blazer was 100% not related to Axial, the demand no longer met the minimum order quantity so they let the license expire.

As for the SCXII kit being on sale, Axial has been rotating vehicles being on sale for a week or 2 for the past several months.

I disagree...steering servos are an issue..price point, build quality and durability excellent in my book

Well as with many of my predictions, I was wrong. The kit is no longer on sale. I grabbed one and built it. Now I'm glad I did as the price is back to $349. The build was fun, but the transmission made me crazy. I will be ordering a vanquish top shaft in the near future. I shimmed mine and made a spacer, but I was a little disappointed with the grinding angry sounds that came out of it. I finally got it but it took 4-5 tries and an hour on this forum and the youtube to get the bugs out!
