Default SCXII Deadbolt Coming Soon?

Axial did a live video last night to mostly talk about Axialfest stuff. I missed most of it while I put my kids to bed but tuned in near the end. If you were able to get through the nearly 80 minutes of cheesy banter (or smartly skipped 98% of the video like me), you might have noticed a Tactic radio like the terrible one included with the SCXII Honcho was passed across the table followed by this:

Clearly it is a Deadbolt but this one has a new olive green color, wheels and (possibly) tires from the new Honcho, a CRC front bumper, and what looks like plastic links from the Honcho as well.

You can also see the red AR44 diff covers as it is picked up.

Should you care about another SCXII version?

Maybe you love Deadbolts, maybe you love the SCXII but hate Jeep and Toyota, maybe this will be the cheapest SCXII yet. I don't really know.

Or just maybe you have been holding out for that fabled 69 Blazer version and this is one step closer to that being a reality.

Some people have baby hands and can't stand to hold large objects.
It's slightly more robust than the previous ones included in the RTR. I have no issues with it and I have girlish fingers lol.

Maybe Axial was waiting for their fate to be determined under bankruptcy before releasing new products. Now with the buy out, maybe these new models will get released.

It's a natural next step to follow the SCX10 II Honcho for Axial to keep up their product line refresh. I love my OG Deadbolt but there's not much stock left to it. I haven't acquired a II yet but will likely lose whatever body comes on it right off, so it is what it is.

The original Deadbolt just got discontinued according to Great Hobbies site, so naturally it makes sense for this release.

So other than the front bumper that looks like my grandson carved it from a bar of soap, just the standard replacement of links, driveshafts, servo, RX/TX and tires and you're set!

It's Basically a body for the honcho RTR.
I don't like the new axles, should have stayed with the AR44 and not invest in new molds...

My guess would be to keep costs down so they can market they way the have been and continue to make their margins.

I dont really care for that baby shit green color or the out of place bumper, but I'd pick it over the Honcho.

Still waiting on the K5.

I know some people disliked the bright green but from a design perspective it made it incredibly easy to pick out the Deadbolt among a fleet of crawlers.

What's the draw of the deadbolt? I never understood the first version either.

What do you mean when you say draw bud? Do you mean the body just curious?
