Default Motor Length

Can someone please tell me how long of a motor will fit or specifically if a HobbyWing 540L fits if anyone happens to run one?

I got the 540L for my Capra not knowing it was L for long and not knowing how much room. Its 1/2 inch too long and only because of a post at the bottom which I may just get mad and trim.

I bought a regular 540 but come to find out the HW 540 wont work with the newer AXE R2 ESC because they changed the sensor plug pinout..... So now I need an AXE v1.1 which Id have got the combo if I knew that before hand...

I either trim, send it all back or, I plan on getting the SCX so keep the R2 for that if it fits.

Thanks!

You shouldn’t have a problem in the 10.3, I’m running the Hobbywing Fusion in mine and it’s long, it’s the brushless esc motor combo so it’s pretty long and there’s plenty of room.

Yeah shouldn't be an issue in a 10.3. I'm running a Holmes Hobbies Crawlmaster Sport 550 12t no problem its tight but no trimming needed.

When running a 550 sized motor, you might need to remove some plastic from the front motor cover. I had to remove some plastic to put the sensor cable into the motor.

Here what I am talking about:
