Default I put Vanquish D44s and a VFD in my 10iii Gladiator.

It was a hell of a project but it's done! Sitting beautifully on SPEC wheels and a set of my 80mm Traxxas "mod" Big Bores.

I think we all need to see pics of how you got that VFD in there.

Nice conversion! The VFD looks right at home in there!

Tire size and ride height looks awesome! Great job!

Came out super-scale lookin', love the paint and matte fenders, excellent wheel and tire choice!

Thanks everyone! I had significant challenges with the stock fenders. I ordered the file from Knights for the tube fenders.

Also placed an order with ScalerFab for steel sliders. The body capture are a royal PITA.

Last, I forgot to mention how quite this thing is. The stock portals and transmission made for quite the noisy rig.

Any idea if it’s possible to run the vfd with the scx10iii straight axles?

Most definitely. The R&P is the same between the D44s and the AR45 straight.

This truck looks fantastic.

It makes me want to lower my JLU. However, every time I drive over a root on the trail, I'm thankful I have not lowered my JLU.

Wow nice build, how did you modify the chassis and links to make it fit??

This particular setup required slight frame modification and new rear links. However, there is good news for anyone who would like to repeat this. I'm about 85% complete with a VFD conversion skid! This will be 3D printed in ABS-like resin from my Photo Mono X. So an ultra high quality, butter smooth, conversion skid that will required no frame or link modification.

Stay tuned. I even bought a second 10iii and VFD.
