Question Servo on axle mount for 10.3 straight axles

Does anybody make a servo on axle / 4 link mount for 10.3 straight (not portal) axles? I'm sure I can figure one out myself, but premade (or an stl file) would certainly speed up the process!

I'm not sure I would trust a 3D printed servo mount.

I've seen a few on Amazon.
Search scx10 servo mount axle

I came across that same file on thingiverse and it sounds like it doesn't have provisions for a 4 link and the holes don't line up, I appreciate the link though. I might have my buddy print it for me anyway just to have a starting point, but neither of us knows how to draw/program for 3d printing... just print other people's stuff!

I know there's plenty of bolt on mounts for 10.2 axles / ar44's on Amazon and the like, but I've yet to stumble across any for the 10.3 / ar45's.

Admittedly, I haven't looked too close at these axles (a good friend of mine gave them to my son so he could finally swap axles out on his Gen7) to compare them to the portal version (I have a 10.3 on the shelf too) to see what I could build at home. I know I could convert his car to CMS, but scale doesn't matter that much and given the choice, I'd rather go SOA.

Punk's Custom 3d has some for the ar45 portals. I asked about the straights... they're a couple weeks out, still.

Cool, good looking out. That might save me the hassle of having to rearrange all of his suspension and steering. After comparing the portal and straight axle variations, there's not much chance of being able to use the SOA mount meant for the portal on the straight one anyway.

It looks like I’m not the only one that’s been searching for this mount. Looked for it a few times and finally found one. https://www.shapeways.com/product/P7...li=marketplace

Anyone have luck making their own solution yet? I can get these axles really cheap new and want to use them on my 10 ii based rig but need the 4 link and servo mount. I don't really want to wait 3 weeks to get the 1Tenth bracket and don't have 3d drawing skills or a printer for that matter. I can however work with metal well, maybe something out of steel or aluminum?

I think the 1tenth bracket took a week or so (not 3 weeks) to get to me, ordered directly from their site not from Shapeways. It fits tight enough to "snap" into place. I haven't got around to actually doing the axle swap, but it certainly looks like the 1tenth bracket is going to work just fine.

How does the 4 link mount look? Useable? Have any pics of it mounted? Did the one you got come 3D printed as the pics on site or actual machined plastic?

I'm not capable of posting pics to the interwebs...

The mount looks fine. I gave it a good hard twist with my ginormous hands and didn't kill it, so I feel comfortable running it. It is indeed 3d printed. Though it's mounted on the axle, it'll probably be a long time until I get the axles under a truck, so I can't comment on real world durability or fitment of the links to the mounts.

Thank you for posting those pictures for me!

Worth noting: the mount does *look* super tall on its own, but it's not actually very tall... it will only fit a 20mm servo horn before the horn collides with the tierod, which is about right anyway if you want a 1:1 ratio with the steering knuckle/arm. I just didn't have a 20mm on hand to take the picture. The overall height from axle centerline to the top of a mounted servo (I just threw the first one I found in my spares on there for the pictures) is right at 2", which is exactly the same as the SCX10v1 style axles (that I shortened the servo mount posts on to get it to sit lower) that this will be replacing. The draglink will need to be about 15mm shorter (about 82mm eye to eye.)

Made something out of steel yesterday, tried to upload photos but this forum won't let me post pics, even linked ones for some reason.
