Default Dropping the Wraith -Lowering Kits,Tires, Shocks?

Which kit will get the Wraith lower CKRC or Level3? Also by switching over to 1.9 that will drop it down some more correct? Lastly can I put shorter shocks? Maybe the proline powerstrokes.

Btw I will not be Rock Crawling at all mainly bashing. Yes i know its not really made for that but I like the wraith.

Just get shorter shocks, no point in buy the lowering kit if you are replacing them. The Power Stroke fronts will put the lower links about level, that is about as low as you want to go.

1.9's are a poor choice for the Wraith. A tire around 5" tall is about as small as I would go. For bashing you could look at the Proline 2.2 Badlands or something like that.

Level 3 should lower it easily....you will need shorter shocks I believe. I have not lowered mine but I put Traxxas Big Bore shocks on and those alone lowered my Wraith slightly. They are shorter than the stock shocks but 100% better and leak free.

Ok thanks for your input. The powerstroke isnt final was just using them as an ex. I was also going thru your threads about making a Bulletproof Wraith cause I may have too cause I was thiking of going with the traxxas velineon system.

Yes. 3.5" eye to eye is good front and rear imo, I"m running Losi .9" hard anodized and threaded they are about 3.5" eye to eye, work great and easy to adjust.

Again, if changing shocks there is absolutely no point in buying a lowering kit.

If you want the same amount of suspension travel flip the lower shock mount. If you don't need the travel, put slash front proline shocks all the way around to lower it.

Great advice Harley! I just have a level 3 kit laying around and have seen others use them. That is why I commented. I agree just shorter shocks lowers it plenty without extra hardware. My Big Bores are noticeably lower...I had to flip my lower shock mounts back to stock positions to get it a little higher. Too low and the links hit my interior. I am thinking of switching out the bulky STRC lowers for the Axial ones that came in my kit. Just for fun to see how it works. That is after I buy the beefier Revo rod ends and steel balls. All to come.

Random question. Is there a good place to mount a hitch on the Wraith? (like the dinky hitch for the scx10) A couple of friends are building trailers for their boats. One bought a Stampede and the other is interested in the scx10 or the Wraith and he asked me and i dont have a clue cause i havent gotten mine yet.

Carter Fab makes rear hitches I think. I saw on his facebook page some cool rear bumper....but maybe just for a tow-hook. Hmmm.

What are thoughts on Gmade 85mm piggyback shocks? Look pretty awesome.

What about the Gmade resi 103mm and then a lowering kit? It should give it better stance and long travel right?

cool I just found this thread and answers, Im the same situation than the OP and already have available some 85mm rc4wd aluminum shocks that are 3.5"

here in this part of Baja (mex) all around is only desert and desert, hard pack and lose sand, then the beach.. I dont need 100mm shocks here or larger.

cut boggers rock for bashing. low ride height im finding works well for everything

the piggy backs are fully adjustable and would be awesome in 85mm to lower the ride. im personly going to get the 103s and maintain this ride height. here i have 1/8 front buggy shocks on all corners and have flipped the lower shock mounts over and flipped the rear upper shock mount. these shocks pictured are 115mm at this stand there 80-85% droop

I have a question about switching the shock mounts on the wraith. By looking at them I thought this would in fact raise the ride height. I did the rear after moving the battery to the front to try and get it to sit more level but switching did indeed raise my truck. Is there a chance mine were installed "upsidedown" from the factory? Maybe they did it on the poison spyder truck only? This is on a 5 day old Poison spyder rtr. Here is the way mine came. Seems weird. Then again I stayed up till 4am messing with the truck last night and that was one of the last things I did. LOL! Yes I was sober.
