Well I decided to not hack the tubes off of this set of axles, but I did shave and plate them. Gained .125 in clearance. Installed the 36/14 gears to make this possible, they are .100 hundred smaller on the od of the ring gear. And now I'll be dragging steel instead of aluminum. Plus it's cool and a first. Front axle is built except for new link truss. Chose to keep the VP pan hard mount, it's a very nice piece and one less thing for me to build. Assembled front weight is @ 11 3/4oz as of now. Rear is 9 1/4oz with out crossmember. Freed up 4oz out of my front wheels by removing the 3oz lead weight, replacing one beadlock ring w/new delrin ring, and the new style CI dual stage foam. I'll get better pics one of these days. Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can't Lose |

Brian, check with mthead on these forums. His vendor thread is probably at the top of the list in the wheels section. He did the beadlock rings, they are delrin. The wheels are RC4wd Predator. They look like the 1:1 Walker Evans Racing wheels, just like my dads. The 1.9s he did are like the Poison Spyder Spyderlocks I have as well. Added the ole tried and true cheap hubs from axial, slightly modded to fit these wheels. Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can't Lose |

Oh yeah, wheels are aluminum just to clarify. Brian send me the axles and I'll send em back with the cage. I'll have it done this weekend. Grab a set of the gears as well to get the clearance. Axial # AX30401. Just strip the axles and box em up. Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can't Lose Last edited by CarterFab; 02-16-2012 at 10:59 PM. |

These are Rc4wd housings also. Just got the full CFM treatment, other than what's coming on the next set, evil laugh. I can mod yours to accept the VP pan hard mount if you want also. Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can't Lose |

Let's have some fun. First person to notice and identify the other modification to the axles gets a free aluminum panel of their choosing from CFM for the Wraith. Excludes side panels. It's not the shaved diff, color change or the fact that a VP pan hard bracket is mounted to the RC4wd housing. Good luck.
