Grease the ring and pinion in the axles, and the gears in the trans. I run everything else dry. I may put a few drops of light machine oil on the u joints.

What kind of grease would be best for the diffs and trans? Anything special?

This. Any good quality automotive grease, I use some commercial Chevron blue stuff.

Would white lithium grease be okay or is it too thin of a grease? I have some stuff called 105. Lubriplate.

Marine grease...water proof, can't get it off my fingers...sticks to my gears, inexpensive,
you can't ask for anything more

No that is crap grease imo. Good marine grade grease or synthetic automotive grease.

Okay so I found some grease we had in our garage. Old but it should work fine, it is by Lubriplate also. It is called Boat Trailer wheel bearing grease. It is yellowish white and waterproof. Can't hurt to try this for free..lol. Amazing what one finds while looking through the junk in the garage!!

Just watch some grease isn't plastic friendly and will weaken the plastic over time. Whatever you use just make sure it is plastic safe. A lot of marine grease is plastic friendly. I use a dry lubricant for bicycles called white lightening in U's and spur/pinion. It doesn't attract of hold dirty and grim stinks like hell though.

Cool I have White Lightning stuff too. I will use on other parts but I wanted something for the differentials so I am using the Lubriplate Marine wheel bearing stuff, the diffs are mostly metal parts which is nice. I didn't put too much in there anyway. My build is slowly coming along. Step 4 I think..lol.

Good tip on the White Lightning, I am glad I got tons of that stuff...hehehe.
