| How to Reduce 32P Gear Noise
Hi Guys, I just got my Wraith kit put together, complete with RRP 32P metal spur/slipper combo mod. Mesh and alignment are both good and everything turns freely in the drivetrain, but with the 32P metal gears it sounds like a blender full of marbles when she's running. Any suggestions on how to reduce the noise? I know that it will never be as quiet as the 48P stock gears, but thought I would take a chance to see if anyone had figured anything out... |

I agree with Roland, I don't think you're going to get it noticeably quieter. You maybe could try sticking some double sided tape on the front of the gear to deaden the sound a bit, not sure how well it'd work. Even my plastic 32p setup is loud enough you can hear it. |

Might try some powder graphite, dry lube basically.

Thanks guys, I figured as much... I'll try some dry lube and otherwise enjoy the sounds of strength!

every metal gear setup Ive used has been noisy.. BUT, gut a sticky felt pad like one for the legs of a kitchen chair and trim and stick to the spur. it will help deaden the sound some. (Just like Testykalz idea with the servo tape). Ive tried the graphite and other dry lubes and they do nothing for sounds.. Might help lube, but thats it. |

Good suggestions all round... I have a very small amount of heavy grease on there now mostly to help with break-in, does little for sound, but the wax lube is a great idea. I will try the dampening trick too, can't hurt.
