| Best Performance Upgrades??
Hey everyone, I want to upgrade something on my wraith, but don't know what would be best to upgrade. I'm looking for something that would help with performance. I already have all upgraded steering and servo. |

I guess that all depends on what you want do do with your rig. Do you want to crawl better or just bash more?

It all depends how much cash you got.

Take a good look at the rig overall. Fix/upgrade what you feel is the next weak link for your style of driving. Forget about what everyone else is doing just because their doing it. Be you.

More power, followed immediately by stronger parts to replace what's broken by the more power.

I've had my RTR for about 2 weeks now and so far I've had some decent carnage. CKRC Servo--Toasted in 10 mnutes Axial 20T Stock Motor--Smoked by pack 5 Axial Stock Upper & Lower Suspension Links--rubberized by pack 6 Axial Stock servo--still works, but it's pretty weak and I can watch the gear & horn wiggle when I move the tires by hand. I've already replaced the motor with a Traxxas 12T 550 Titan, along with 32p 54T/13T gears. Just ordered new suspension links and a new Hitec HSR5995TG servo to fix what needs to be fixed. If you've already got a good servo and better steering, next thing I'd shoot for is replacing the weak factory links if you have an RTR version. If you have the kit, then you're probably okay there. Not to mention, if you bought the kit, then you probably already have a decent motor, gears, tires, etc., too. So maybe a set of VP knuckles a chubs? |

upgrade it to how you want it to perform. not all upgrades will be right depending on what you want to do. build it to the point you are confident in it not breaking, other than axle shafts. then back it with some quality electronics.

I finally got mine to where i want it for bashing. all aluminum axial links, strc steering(if i was to do it again i'd go vanquish for this) strc chubs and knuckles with axial universals. hot racing gears in the tranny(stripped the stock ones today actually) with a titan 12t pushing the rig(temporary, i keep using them since they're cheap) powered by a skylipo 4400mah 3s. oh and i have strc diff covers and a lowering kit on it. 21t pinion stock spur. it's insanely fast, handles fairly well(way better then stock) and is pretty bulletproof with jumps now that i have the slipper set up right. my rear driveshaft is somewhat twisted, but still holding so far. if it snaps i'll use the plastic spares until i can afford to upgrade to MIP shafts.

I just found out what a big difference up grading from a 2-cell to a 3-cell battery can make. With the stock motor and gearing (80/20) it was fairly fast, and would roll if I tried to turn at full or near full throttle, and it was not that good of a climber. Then I put in a Holmes 2012 Team motor and one of his BRXL's and lowered the gearing to 84/17. It was much slower, but man this thing can crawl. Today I upgraged to a 3-cell battery of the same C rating, size and weight with a little bit less amp hours, and WOOZZER, this thing is now a beast once again that will roll, no it will flip over if I try to turn at speed. And I am sure it will crawl even better than with a 2-cell |

HPI Racing Flux Reload V2 Waterproof Brushless ESC With all the programming features and it being waterproof, it's hard to pass up. Then all hardened steel tranny and MIP driveshafts if possible. Ima need it if I get a 3s. Haha!! | |

Get the water proof brxl esc. It has a a good bec built in. It can also handle up to 6s lipo i think, plus brushed or brushless, sensered or senserless i believe. Mix that with a good hh hand wound motor or the tekin pro 4 it will be awsome and for the money savox makes some great servos. good luck |

The BRXL is brushed only. It's also IMO the best brushed crawler ESC you can buy.

If you add more power, you better upgrade the drive line to metal. I installed a HH 30 turn torquemaster pro and 3s. Got the front wheels in a bind today and twisted the front (stock) drive shaft like it was butter Definitely seeing a set of MIP shafts in my future. |
