Default MMP settings w/pro4

Setting up my wraith with pro4 and mmp, chose this reading all the threads about how smooth they are, wheelspeed is amazing, but low end is not as smooth as i'd like. Is this just the way brushless is? I'm new to castle usually run tekin fxr's in all my other stuff. I've searched around looking for tips on programming the mmp but haven't found much. I have the castle link, but there are so many options on there I really don't know where to start. Any help would be great.

Which pro4 did you get? If you got the 3300kv it should be super smooth at low crawling speeds. If it's not, it's your gearing or the sensor cable isn't plugged in all the way. Most likely the sensor cable is loose.

^^ditto. It's probably running in sensorless mode.

Oh yeah, I didn't mean to say it like you had it set that way. I just meant if the sensor cable was loose!

The pro4 is smooth if you gear it down enough, but it isn't as good on startup as a regular brushed motor. Try gearing down more.

I'll gear it down a bit and try that, losing a little top end might be a good thing!

I originally went 14/56 and it really wasn't that smooth on the bottom. I went to a 12 and it's perfect. I can still launch it to the moon if i have to, or crawl ultra slow.

Something is wrong if its not silky smooth. Mine is.

You can mess with the "start power" setting. If you got high C rated batteries set it to "High Start Power".

You can change the profile of the throttle curve. I grabbed the line just below half throttle and pulled it down a bit. So instead of a straight diagonal line, it starts off at a lower angle and around half throttle it really gets steeper.

It gives the bottom end more cusion and anything past half throttle will backflip my Wraith from a stop.

I run HH Crawlmasters in my XR10 and this Pro4/MMP combo is pretty dang impressive for brushless. Not quite as smooth but damn close. I preffer the Castle ESCs over the Tekins even when using Tekin motors.

There are little ? boxes beside the settings that will explain what they do. Its a pretty simple and easy to use program.

oh yeah... I use a 11-12T pinion.

I've been messing with all the settings, got it to smooth out some, I'll drop it to 12 t pinion tonight and try that

Mine has been silky smooth with the 14/56 gear setup. Slow controlled start up and crazy fast high end speed. Well until a magnet let loose on the rotor. Need to buy a new rotor so I am using a Tekin 17.5 for now. I miss the power the pro4 has but my battery run times have gone up which is nice.

Set startup power to low, pulled throttle curve down.

Finally got time to switch to 12t pinion. Way better crawling, still insane wheelspeed. Just broke front and rear lockers.

That motor will really bring out the weaknesses if you have any.
