Default Lipo discharge rate and MMP/Tekin Pro4 in Wraith

I am building a new Wraith kit and want to keep it light.

I will be running a Mamba Max Pro and Tekin Pro4 3300kv motor.

I will likely be running a smaller than normal lipo to keep the weight down (2200 - 2600mah)

My question is - does this setup require a high discharge lipo. 45C - 65C rating? Or can I get by with a lower discharged rated lipo (ex 25C - 35C)??

I dont want to starve the motor from power if it is really needed.

Thanks.

I have the exact set-up. I use either a 3s 25C 2200mah, 3s 30c 2200mah or a 3s 55c 2600mah. Truck runs perfectly fine on any of the packs. It does have a bit more punch with the 55c pack but its really not that much of a big deal.

IMO, if you can feel the difference your underpowered. The stronger pack will live a longer, less stressed life. Nobody would expect a low C 2,000-,3000 pack to live in a slash with that combo, the motor pulls the Amps, no matter what it's bolted in.

The mmp is about a 120amp esc, stick to around that rating and you're golden.

I prefer 150amp packs (2s5000mah30c) on my mmp/pro4 3300kv and summit tranny combo in an scx10.

Yes, lower C packs will not be as powerful, will not last as long and will puff more (and sooner) when run with high amp draw motor/esc combos. Lower gearing helps but only partially.

Listen to Meatwad.

I blew a 2200 40c 3s pack in my sc truck in one run using an esc/motor combo with less pull than what you're wanting to use. I knew it was dumb, but did it anyway. Stopped just short of a total lipo meltdown.

Never let your lipo be the weakest link.
