I'm totally New to RC trucks period, Seriously I have been for years into RC airplanes, and Helis, and Full scale crawling in my Nasty JK Rubicon, but I just recently decided it was time to enjoy wheeling on the cheap... Comparatively.... So I took some notes and started my journey with a Wraith. (By the way... I do envy the SCX10 and AX10 Scalers, and maybe will go that route one day.... Although for a scaler I am really fond of the Trail Finder 2.... Maybe for Christmas, but I'm just having too much fun with my Wraith...) anyway, I dont think I can post pictures yet for some reason, so please check out my first attempt at a build and making a video and let me know what you think.... and be nice.. I'm not a super noob, but still a noob, also keep in mind, my main goal in my build was to modify the Wraith as little as possible, so I kept everything I could stock, and modified the body to fit the chassis, not the other way around... DO WANT. Body looks great, and nice video! Sure beats the blair-witch style filmography I usually see watching rc's on youtube. Isn't it awesome being able to spend $100 and have a ton of new parts to install? Now you can actually ask your family for something other than underwear and socks for xmas. EDIT: looks like you should add some/more weight to your wheels to make things more stable. There's my input. Last edited by monkeymagic9; 10-09-2012 at 12:48 PM. |

Thanks for checking it out guys, I've been playing with it for about a month now without a single club or forum member to share it with till now... LOL! I was too busy reading forums to bother writing anything and just made my video the other day... Did everything on one battery pack, and only had an iphone and some good phone-on-a-rock balancing skills to work with.. Well, The ipad helped and imovie seems to be an ok editor for now. I definately do want to weight the wheels a tad, but i might just try heavier axels first.. Looking into worm drives to get rid of the slop and esc braking... As for the comment posted by "Monkeymagic9" Its definately nice to see a hundred bucks go further... My full scale rig has driveshafts that each cost more than this entire project did... I think I may have found a new way to enjoy crawling... Not letting my JK go just yet though.... Thanks again for looking.

Love the look of the JK body. Mind sharing with me how you mounted it. Thanks.

Yes, do go for some weight in the axle (like solid lockers and or beef tubes) before you add to the wheels.

Use photobucket and paste the image code. That's what I do.
