id try to find countersunk M3 screws for the ring gear~
and are you using the Axial wraith center driveshafts?
it may be pushing the pinion up against the ringear!

I guess I have been lucky with my ring gear screws being cap heads. They came in a kit I got from Hexcrews.com guys. I was a test kit so they had no idea what kind of screws worked where. I am a little bummed being the prototyper...lol Oh well someone has to!

Thank you everybody who helped me on this, the reason it was binding was because of the heads on the screws that the HR lockers come with. easiest solution for me was the cutting down extra screws that are used to hold down the diff cover diff cover.

I just fitted an ssd wide axle to my yeti I also brought two overdrive rc4wd diff gears. On set binds on almost a complete turn the other is completely fine. There is about a mm worth of adjustment on the rc4wd pinion and in the stock I can only see room to shim the pinion closer to the crown.

Edit
you shim the pinion closer and away from the crown to get the whole length of the tooth to mesh. You want to shim the crown closer or away from the pinion to adjust mesh.

It’s been 20 years since I learnt this but never need to put it to practice since live axles had been replaced by fwd and independent rear. so I might be a little wrong or very wrong

I had this same issue when I installed Incision diff lockers with new HD Axial ring and pinions. As mentioned above, the gasket was the culprit. Remove the gasket between the ring gear and locker and you should be good to go.
