| Wide Stanced Wraith
I have a set of Mayhem monster wheels on my wraith,i ran it around a little to see how it looked and perfomed with .450 hubs.Well a day or so later i figured i would change them out to the .650 hubs for more stability. So yesterday i added 6oz.of weight to the front wheels and ran it around a little today and noticed it loosened the right axle bearing. What can be done to keep the bearing from wearing so fast,or is it one of those things that will have to be replaced often?

Just like on a real vehicle the farther out you put the weight the more wear you are going to have on things such as the wheel bearings and or ball joints for example . I know that 1/10s dont have ball joints just a reference. My point being if you keep the wide spacing I would predict lots of worn bearings and you should also check the rears if you have them spaced out also you should check your axles for bending! Hope this helps even though it is probably not what you wanted to hear

The driver side axle bearing wore fairly quick when i was running the stock wheels,i kinda figured the bearing was wearing because of the plastic wheels and plastic knuckles.O'h well i guess i'll go back to the .450 hubs, although i was trying to see if there was a better grade bearing to use to maybe prolong the wear. Thanks gofaster427.

Traxxas bearings are MUCH better than stock. Fast Exdy bearings aren't as good as the Traxxas, but they are better than the stockers.

I'm curious if the folks that have wraiths with a wide stance have to frequently replace bearings?

It would make sense that they would wear out faster...

I had a mini 8 with stock bearings and had played in a little mud and dirt. Next day it didn't want to roll so I ended up washing it out and put corrosion x on it and never had an issue since (couple packs in dirt and a little mud). I can keep rinsing wheels off without worrying about the bearings getting rusted.
