Default My first build, My first RC

Getting a bit excited now it's getting close to being ready to run.
I know most of you will be bored to death looking at this as it's stock ATM, I have some topcad Ally knuckles and hubs for front and and ally lockouts for rear.
Got some ally shocks to play with but swapped out the springs for the stock springs as the one's that came with them are hard. also got a full set of 100mm shocks to play with in the future.
Waiting for a 35T motor, I have ordered some Goodies from HH, A BR-XL and castle link.
Going to run a Flysky GT3C hacked, Hoping to get some lights, and winches.

So I'm stuck until things turn up now hence the post.

I will run the battery and RX as stock mounted for now, but the mod to swap everything around will be done, once I get into it a bit more. I just wan to drive it first.

Thanks for all the threads and inspiration in this wonderful place.
One day I may just bite the bullet and get one of you to custom build a nice shiny cage for me.

Sorry to of bored you pro's but will all started somewhere...... It's just i'm about 30yrs behind you lot.

Hey dont sell yourself short. Thats a wraith so its already cool and not boring. Now all you gotta do is make it your own. Lots of ideas on here. just look around. You should check mine out sometime. Just type in ("uniqued n tweeked" wraith w/ speakers) in the search bar. Have fun with it and welcome to RC!

Already seen that one ;), I will certainly be putting my own touches to it, running as stock for now just to get my hand in driving it. Then as things break or monies allow I will tweak it. lights and servos winches are on the cards

Well finally got most of my goodies together. HH have sent me out some nice bit's Had to strip it back down again as the rear top links foul on the floor pan under compression, and decided to move battery forward after looking into the wiring. Driver had 2 hrs worth of work on him today, making sure he sits right and arms on the wheel, also had to make clothing for him, didn't fancy a naked driver, so the needle and thread came out.

Building some lights as well for it. More pics to follow once it's all together again.

Don't feel bad. I just got mine today and it isn't even out of the box. Just wondering, did you need anything before you started building?

Tools if haven't got them already, decent pair of scissors for cutting body panels. Paint and primer for your body panels, and weights for your wheels as well. And contact adhesive for joining wheels to tyres, Non comes in the kit!

Make sure you have your motor and electrics before hand as well otherwise you'll come to a stand still rather quick.

Would also say go for the front battery location mod. so before you paint the interior line it up and cut out the bit needed. I shall take some pics for you of my mod.

Right I'm being Brave, Having seen plenty of custom cages on here. I'm starting small and doing some custom cage work on the front of the wraith as I want to move things around, shock mounts higher and further back, also a servo winch in the front but also moving bumper mounts and steering servo to chassis mount.
I think in the long run this will be harder to get right as I have to match up with the existing cage but I like a challenge.

Strip down is in progress, steel is ordered

Made a Rear cage chop whilst waiting for the Steel to come.

Sorry for the Crap pic, here's the start of the front section steel work for new suspension mounts and then replacing the chassis mount servo brackets, and making servo winch brackets.

I shall get better pics tomorrow

Update progress is good

It's looking good, you make ask why? The room I have gained in the front by removing all the clutter is massive so hoping for servo winch and a full waterproof box under the hood. But the outside still looks stock
Next shopping list is 138mm shocks, as now the chassis mount has lost me some travel upwards so need to gain more going down.
But what's the thoughts for my first steel work?
