Those things look sweet! I would be afraid of the plastic rims as well. Catch the tire wrong and your done.

Hello,
I want my Wraith Ultra narrow.

I can achieve 265mm with Proline B4 Buggy Rims!

But has anybody an Idea for a narrow setup with Beadlock rims?

Any hints would be appreciated.

Cheers
Daniel

Most of the wheels on the market are 1" wide. VP offers some of their wheels in 0.700". Get some of those, then get some taller crawler innovation foams.

I also want a narrow stance, so im shooting for a set of HPI stock car rims. (1.9) and ill be running 1.9 trepador tires under a Proline XJ body. (still havent decided wether or not to chop it for panels, or go full body with it yet) but zero offset wheels will get the tires to just (JUST) be covered by the guards/fenders.

a narrower rim wont make the truck any narrower. you need a narrower offset to do that. offset in RC land is measured backwards to full size, so a negative offset will actually narrow your track width. so far, the only wheels i have seen in negative offsets are S.D.I 1.9s and now the buggy rims (which are all blank dish from what ive seen..) beyond this, everything else is either zero offset, or positive(wider)

so just to clarify on the narrower wheels, if its 0.700 width, with zero offset, it will be 0.350 on each side of the hex compared to 0.500 on each side, but the center of the tire will still be in the same position relative to hub position so will only make the tire a little more balloony and less square.

That's a great article. Another option is to go with the GCM Racing AR60 Axle Housings. He'll make them to a specified width, and in any configuration (centered, left, or right offset). Granted, it's a more expensive option, but it's one I prefer. I had my last set produced 2mm shorter per shaft so that I could use the Axial CVD's without stripping the tangs off (since Axial was 'short' sited in making them too short).

nothing against GCM coz id LOVE one of their transfer cases one day, but ive been watching the RC4wd centered housing. but i just cant bring myself to throw so much money at an axle... lol

this one is $100, and it has everything needed to convert it. including axle shafts. >

and it just dawned on me. RC4wd sell a centered axle, with equal length shafts. so i looked, and theyre rather cheap. so im buying a pair~!!

Replacement Axle Shafts for Aluminum Rear Centered Axle Housing / Axial Wraith

now, i absolutely CAN NOT wait to get my new housings to start chopping!!

WINNING!!! hehe

You're welcome. I was the whiner that pushed them to sell the shafts separately. I was buying them before they were 'for sale'. They've got great housings, and great shafts.

That's cool... Just as long as Arnie isn't really 'going commando' in the front seat... I'm sure he isn't... Chuck would whoop his butt.
