| Wraith kit build
Just bought my wraith kit today along with a futaba 4pl-2.4G controller Savox 416oz servo. Gonna out this stuff together first and figure out what motor and esc I want to run. Thinking about the tekin 35T and also I gotta decide on batteries. I'm think a 2s lipo. Gonna be a fun build. |

Holmes brxl for an esc and a 27t Torquemaster pro geared nice and low on 3s lipo and you'll love it. That's exactly the way My wraith is set up. I started with a 35t and it wasn't quite enough. Also 2s won't cut it. The wraith needs some grunt to reach its potential.

Nice start. Make sure to check out Choosing a motor and ESC for your Wraith - Gearing Added! I would look at running a 3s lipo with the BRXL ESC and HH Crawlmaster Pro 13T. It is really smooth at the low end but has pretty good speed. |

Alright guys thanks ill give those a look. Would I need a bec with a 2s lipo? I've got the axles and shocks all put together. Just taking my time making sure it's all right. Next step is the transmission tomorrow.

I would def run a bec with that big servo no matter what battery. Nice start to a awesome rig and id suggest a mmp with a sensored brushless motor I run a tekin 13.5 on 3s and love |

Alright I will probably put a BEC on there now that way it's done right. I haven't decided on a motor yet. I want something good for some crawling but decent speed as well I don't plan on any competitions just around the house fun.

i think id go 3000 kv brushelss. on 2 cell itl still crawl decent and will rip on 3 cell. bec is up to you. im running the internal bec and havent browned out yet. myabe wedged in rocks and hanging on the wheel will cause a high amp draw enough to drop voltage and brown out the reciever. hobbyking has some 3-5 amp becs for under 10 bucks. some instock in the us warehouse. what the tim cameran youtube vids. thats a rock racer and as the wraith was intended to be. im running a 4600 kv brushless motor on two and three cell. it runs pretty dang good for my driving style this is on 2 cell. 3000kv ballpark would be more crawlable Axial Wraith POV external view, Caslte SV2 4600 on 2cell - YouTube |

Is Holmes a better motor than tekin? I'm highly leaning towards the torque master pro and that brxl. Doesn't seem like a bad deal. Thanks everyone for all the help. Hopefully the stock axial drivetrain will handle the power for a while before needing some upgrades.

Okay guys I need some assistance. I'm trying to wire the 27t and the brxl into my wraith but I'm still undecided on if I need a BEC for sure or not. I will never do competition crawling just a weekend toy. If I stuck with a 2s lipo could I get by without a BEC and just use the one that's in the brxl. Or should I just put it on. It just seems odd to cut the BEC from the brxl that I just purchased to use in the wraith. Also could someone give me a diagram or something on how to wire the BEC in with the brxl. Because I'm having troubles trying to figure this all out. I am using a futaba 4pl controller. And would I not use the on off switch that came with the controller and just use direct battery power for everything? Thanks guys

Well the BEC is all up to you, but everyone always says to run one. Wiring it up is easy! Black to black, red to red, and pull the red from the red from the ESC (don't cut). Or get a servo wire extension, and cut the red out. The only reason you don't want to cut it on the ESC, is so you can hook up a Castle Link. OR! Holmes Hobbies / Holmes Bikes :: Servos accessory/ Voltage regs :: RX Bypass Adapter And done! You don't have to mess with any wiring what so ever. Plug it in, and DONE! Alright I understand that. Thank you. And I will look into those extensions to use an external BEC.

Well got it almost all put together and drove it around the house some tonight. Drives good. Waiting on the lower gears for it. For now running on 2s lipo. Relocated the battery to the front and also have the receiver and brxl up front. Looking at mayhem wheels for it now. The brake feature Holmes has works amazing. You left off the throttle and it will dang near lock the tires up. I think I'd like to lessen the brake a little. |
