| Need some help with servos
Hey guys, Need a little advise on what servo I should go with. Hitec 7955TG Ultra Torque Titanium Gear 333 tq @ 6v Or Savox SA1230SG Coreless Digital Servo 500 tq @ 6v Over the months I've been stripping gears out of the waterproof traxxas servo and I' getting sick of it. I do more bashing then crawling but would still like to have good power when needed. Yes I have a BEC. Thanks for your answers |

Either are plenty strong enough for what you need. Savox one is a BEAST. There have been some reports of them freaking out when placed near other electrical devices. A little cheaper on price. There's a lot of people that run other models in go-fast rigs with no issues. Hitec, you can go wrong with something that's been proven time and time again. A little more expensive than the other. Great warranty and CS from what I've heard and read. The choice is yours... |

I run a savox digital in my wraith. some complain about it being a bit noisy but it hasnt bothered me. Plenty strong enough however it just bends my stock steering link like its nothing. with upgraded steering links it will be unstoppable.

I would highly recommend the Hi-tec We sell both but I have personally used the same 7955 for over 3 years in multiple rigs, crawlers,1/8 buggy, revo. Both servos are backed by great companies. 7955 FTW |

I am using a Hitec HS 7954-SH. I am happy with it so far. Torque is 403 in/oz at 7.4V. Good enough for this guy. |

My Savox took a dump after only running three packs through it. I'm waiting on the Hitech to show in the mail now.

Yeah I'm going to go with the Hitec 7950TH Mega torque Ti gear. 487oz @ 7.4. That should do it.

Hitecs are junk inside but regarded highly amongst the community. I like to imagine I'm paying for the warranty. I've been enjoying a savox for quite some time now and it's great. (1230sg) | |

I'm confident an idiot can somehow manage to destroy anything. Not saying you are an idiot but just because an idiot somehow manages to rip up x servo and someone else shares that on the internet doesn't make x a bad part. Idk. Best I can deduce- choosing a servo is like choosing a gas pickup. A lot of Ford v Chevy talk. Which is better? Lol don't ask a guy with a Dodge... Whichever you choose will not blow out gears anywhere near as easy as the traxxas servo. And either way you'll love the extra muscle.. makes a world of difference on a wraith. |

Agreed. Its just when you are spending 2-3 times the price for one of these servos over the standard ones I've been using, Always a good thing to ask others.

in my opinion yes,the only encovenience is that is a 24 tooth so u need other servo arm than the standard one, beside that i recomend hitec.some friends of mine had bad experience with savox,i don't say that are bad servos, but HITEC RULZZZZ |

| Re: Need some help with servos Oh ok. One of my concerns with the Hitec is shutter. Reviews on youtube showed them shuttering really bad on airplanes when they were not under load. Didnt want to run into that problem also.

i run align ds610s on my helicopter on a full 8.5 volts(2cell lipo) and they are wicked fast and strong. they ds610s can be found for cheap on ebay. i also run the savox 1258 mg the savox rebadges this servo and is the same as the align ds610. i think in 4.8 volts there rated at 300 something ozs. on a 7.4 lipo im not sure what theyd be.. great inexspensive servo in my opion. im looking to replace my 610s for new 615s on my helicopter so i may have to run one on the wraith to see how it performs on 6 volts |
