| New Tires; dimpling/tire indents
I've never had a new set of tires before and after a hour of scrubbing with a toothbrush and simple green my wraith was ready to don it's Christmas present; a set of Rockstars and Rovers. My noob question: What's with the 'indents' in the tires? I can't seem to get them out no matter how I adjust the foam. Is this something that works itself out as they break in?...I guess it's superficial and wouldn't effect performance, but it just doesn't look right... It's normal. It will go away with use.

Looks to me like you need to drill a couple small holes in your rim to allow the air to fill the tire back up. If you already have small holes drilled then im stumpted...

Vent the wheels. You can use a small leather hole punch to put a small vent hole in between the lugs on the tire in a few to 4 spots. This may cause the tire to rip but I never had one rip on my berg comp truck.

I was going to say the same thing, 1) are your rims/tires vented 2) do you have big enough foams in there.

Thanks for the responses! The tires were dented-in right out of the package so I wasn't sure how venting would make a difference...how would air access make a diff if they were dented without wheel? I will probably upgrade the foams and add weight at some point so give a larger foam a try then. As far as mounting up I don't have too much to compare it too being first set I've done, and also hasn't been run with the new wheels so not sure the bead will hold up in the long run, but it seemed to go pretty smooth. I didn't have to clean the beads up, they went in ok. Was just a bit tricky on the backside holding the beads in place with the foams wanting to push it out. I didn't cut the foam at all either which might have made it easier. I'm really pleased with the look though...went in thinking I was getting TSL's but was talked into the Rovers as good performers for trail, wet/dry conditions, and the cheaper priced clinched it. |

Awesome thanks. I guess it's time to add to the parts pile.
