Default My Attempt at a Wraith Kit

This is my first build that aimed at any type of a scale look. I've always wanted to build a scaler and G6 type events happening in Colorado finally got me going.

Before I get to the goods, I've got to thank Ikaika and the Crawl Space for all of the advice and parts.

Now the list:

Wraith Kit
Vanquish SLW 1.0 wheels (I used cap head screws hoping for a more scale look)
Vanquish CHubs, Knuckles, and Lockouts
Vanquish Links, drag link, and tie rod
CI closed cell medium medium foam
MM Pro
Novak 18.5 Brushless motor
CC Beck at 7.4
Hitech 7950
RC4WD LEDs and controller
Futaba Receiver (using my 4PK)
Robinson Racing trans gears
Aluminum XR shock bodies with Losi gold springs
Flying Dutchman electronics box
Sky 3300 Lipos

I wanted to try a fast back body style and after playing with a few options (some more successful than other ), I went with the link mod. I used Axial bent links for a little something different.

I also wanted to try painting the chassis. I used Tamiya primer, light gun metal, and Testors clear coat. At least if it scratches a lot it might look like black paint with some metal showing.

Here are the pics.

Did the flip up hood mod. Secret Agent lurking in the background.

I made a cargo area from some .80 Styrene. Need to fill it with some scale items now.

Finding a driver took longer than I thought. I didn't want a wrestler since pants should be the minimum requirement for driving this rig. I finally found an action figure from the Hunger Games. After some time in the oven at 400 degrees and some work with the dremel, he fits. I will need to extend the steering column though.

I did some test driving on the rocks at the Crawl Space and was happy with how the rig handled. Once it gets warmer I'll take it out for a shake down.

Looks like a strong contender!

How do you like the MMP/Novak 19.5 combo at slow speed?

Thanks

So far I like the MMP / Novak at slow speed. I'm used to brushed motors in a comp crawler so I'm still figuring out what good is for this rig.

Driving on rip rap, it seemed to do great.
