|  Gearing Q
What gearing should I be running with a 27T HH brushed (Sport) motor on 3S? (Rig is going to be used for mostly crawling). I know stock RTR 80/20 gearing is not going to work. I've already toasted a stock 20T, 55T(only lasted one run) and a 27T on 3S. Thanks |

I would start around 14/87 and work from there depending on motor temperature. With that gearing it is not going to be fast but should keep the temps in check. If it still gets hot drop a couple more teeth on the pinion. My first time crawling with the 20t stock motor ended up smoking it multiple times and never ran right after that. That gearing with that motor is more for speed. Was the 55t worn out? I would have thought that motor would have enough torque to use 20/80 gearing. |
