| 4.0 3.29 3.11 3.0 gearing
im currently running 4.0 and am wondering how much the speed difrence will be going to 3.29(common gearing for my motor) 4.0 just isnt fast enough on the sand with 4 cell lipos 5 cell is pretty good but could use alittle more oomh 6 cell seems to be right where i wanna be but is kinda a pita. money is tight so i cant realy afford to order a bunch of gears to test. id like to run 4 cell and have some speed and maybe 5 cell for that wow factory everyounce in awhile. thanks for advice |

That's a lot of battery you're running. I can't say for sure but if you look at the math but from 4.0 to 3.29 it's a pretty big drop. I'd probably go up 2 teeth on the pinion (32 pitch) as it will usually increase speed quite a bit.

17 puts it at 3.29 which is a common gear ratio for buggies with 2200kv motors. My motor is 2100kv. Thanks for the reply. I was hoping a few teeth would make a noticeable difrence. I'm 14 now and will try 17. Yeah its 32p Thanks again. |
