|  pinion gear rubbing cover
i installed a traxxas 52 tooth 32p spur ,and a 16 tooth pinion. It was all i had at the time that would fit my motor shaft. anyway after i got it all bolted up i noticed that it seemed a little stiff ,but i powered it up and ran it across the floor . It made on heck of a noise . so i took it back apart i noticed inside my pinion /spur cover that the pinion gear had been rubbing the front of the cover and cutting a groove in it . I could of swore i read about people running bigger than that with no problems . reckon why mine is givin me troubles ? Whats the biggest 32p pinion you guys use ?

If your talking about the pinion (the small one), slide it back towards the motor some. I have a 56 tooth Traxxas spur (the large one) x 12 tooth pinion and it does not rub. This equals out 4.666/1

only problem with that is that ive got it as far back as i can get it . mite have to just find a different style pinion . One that s not as long
