| My son took mine, so I had to build another
Funny story, but it's true. My son and I were going trail driving where we'd go on a hike and drive our trucks. He was driving an AX10 that was setup like a scaler and I had my Wraith. Well, every time we'd turn around he wants to drive mine and I didn't like driving the AX. So, time to buy some stuff. Here's the progress so far. And time for some green paint on a Proline Rubicon body. I did trim out the hood and hinge it for front mount battery. |

I also did a rear tray for where the battery used to go where I'll mount ESC and RX box and painted that up green as well. Next I did a front tray for battery (out of 1/8" ABS) and threw on some EMaxx driveshafts for the back. I need to get the Crawler Innovation front extended trans output so I mount one up front too. |

If you get the Proline Rubicon body, when you cut out the hood, you can trim it along the regular hood lines, but need to cut back at an angle across in front of the A pillar. Then leave a little of the lip of the cowl. I know it's not exactly scale, but much easier to out the battery in. Also, you need to trim the corners back of the hood where it hinges back for clearance. Once it's mounted up I'll get some shots of the body and trimming.

Wait until you see the bumper and frame sliders. I think I bought everything that Bill offered at the time. I even had him customize the cage too. Most of the time it's a V on top but I went for the X. |

Ok, so prior motor position is wrong, need to rotate it to the left and resolder wires on in other direction.

I picked up one of those scale accessory kits with a fire extinguisher, pick, and gas tank. My son took the fire extinguisher and pick but I got the gas tank: Last edited by ik632; 03-02-2013 at 01:34 PM. |

The 23 spline arm didn't hold up for more than 5 minutes of driving. I stuck the one back on that came with the servo and running that for now. I'm also running it at 7v from the Castle BEC. Some folks say not to run it that high, but specs say it will run off 7.4. Last edited by ik632; 03-02-2013 at 01:34 PM. |

Also, if you run the Rubicon body from Proline this is the trimming I had to do. Also, for the mounts, I stuck foam on top of the Traxxas battery hold down to keep the hood nice and seated when it was closed and I had the pins in it. Last edited by ik632; 03-02-2013 at 01:34 PM. |

Just about finished pictures. I have some Robby Gordons to stick on, but need to order tires and 350 hubs. To top it off I ordered the parts for the universal light bar. There are two ways to buy that thing. 1: buy all of the 3 packs (bar, lenses, and covers) separate (like I did) or 2: buy the part number which is the entire kit. Nobody had the kits so I bought the 3. They don't come with screws. You need M2 I believe. I ended up clearancing the holes for M3's that I got in my Harley screw kit. One more thing, I have the standard dogbones with Vanquish VVD's replaced in the RTR and the stubs are normal length. This truck has the Axial universals and the threads on the front are about 3mm longer than the rears. Is this normal?

The threads on the uni's are ridiculously long. They are longer than my dog bones were. Not sure why the did that and made the inners to short to fully engage in the lockers.

I'll see if I need to trim them down a little to fit my new wheels. They have the scale hub covers so we'll see what happens.

Took it out for the first trail run this past weekend and it was awesome. The 412 is awesome with the MMP. I ran on 2S because I wanted to use my 6500mah pack. My son actually killed his 5000 at the 1.5 hour mark and mine still had about another half or more to go. The Tenshock SC411 is coming out of his truck and the Novak 17.5 is going in.
