Default RTR rear cage chop

Anyone cut the whole back station wagon look off the back of a rtr wraith? So all that's left is the reverse slant piece?

Been done several times, just search and you'll find some. Buy you have to put something in to tie the roof into the lower cage. If you just leave it as the slant, it really weakens the cage.

I'm not on a computer so I can't provide links. Ut I can tell you tons of people have done it. Look at my build thread. I did it, the n added a bar from the roof cage to the lower cage to get some rigidity and strength back.

Yes like so. Will the cage break if you don't have the down bars?

There's a few threads with cage mods. Look through the gallery.

Here's mine. I've done quite a few of these. Uses Exo cage pieces for the rear.

I just left an inch or so under each end of brass. You can spread cage out enough to slide brass over. Then just drill a couple small holes through brass and plastic and add a screw on each end.

You'll need the bars if you want it to hold up through a hard roll over. If you roll hard without them, the cage will break.

I fast backed mine about 2 weeks ago. Just chopped it in the usual spots, cleaned everything up, slid some aluminum tube into place and jb welded it. I only had a small gap, maybe a half inch between each post where they were cut so I figured aluminum would be fine. It was a snug fit and kwik-weld bonds metal to plastic like nothin else.
