Default New kit!

So I wanted a new toy to put together with my son and picked up a kit from tower. Now the parts list comes in. Thinking of doing the suspension links and diff covers orange and the body a orange camo look. I'm new to crawlers but not new to rc. What are some must have mods? Ordering steel gears for trans. Plan on bead locks also. What's a good cheaper motor/esc setup that's a good balance of speed and torque? Thanks guys. Can't wait to get going!

Thanks. I'm thinking about going with a Savox SC-0251 servo. What wheels and tires are good for these? This is my first crawler like this.

For a servo. All I recommend for a servo is a Hightec 7950 or 7954. I've never had good luck with savox for any of my cars cars, go fast or crawler. There are endless choices of wheels. All comes down to what you want them to look like I guess. As far as tires go, the best scale tire I've used are the Pit Bull Rock Beast It's. And I've used all of the popular tires but the boggers.
