| Cheap And Easy Sliders
I searched around and didn't see where anyone else had done this mod, so thought I'd share. Sorry if I missed someone else's that's already been done. Anyway, I bought a nice Wraith off the forum recently, tore it down and began the process of making it "mine". While I was looking it over, trying to decide what changes I wanted to make, I came up with this super easy mod to add sliders to the cage. I had some extra Dingo/Honcho sliders laying around, cut the bars off that attach them to the SCX10 chassis, and screwed them in place on the Wraith cage. As you can see, they are pretty much a perfect fit and, as a bonus, they are light-weight: Side View: I used some 12mm grub screws from my rod-ends box to screw through the top part so that there wouldn't be any screw heads sticking out and rubbing the paint off the body panels. On the bottom I just used some button head screw because they are more out of the way. That's it, I think they turned out pretty cool. Last edited by papabash; 04-09-2013 at 09:24 AM. |

They look cool but I think they don't offer any protection? They almost look tucked up in there? I thought sliders were meant to be slid on? Oh well it gives it a different look anyway. Cool!! |

Don't see the need for real protection or I would buy some metal ones. These are more to fill the gap and give it an angle to help it slide off rocks easier instead of getting hung in the space between the skid and the body panels. The top is flush so there is nothing to catch on, the bottom is tucked in a bit to get to the skid screws.

| Re: Cheap And Easy Sliders I made mine outa some AL tube, drilled & ziptied to inside chassis rails. Suoer cheap, light, & just the right OD to reachout beyond the plastic without taking away much ground clearance. |
