One thing you didn't mention is gear sets. May I suggest a set of 43/13's for the diffs, and then a low spur/pinion set to start with.

I got 43/13 in rear & stock front gearing which does great! Matching the ratio is ok, but better with front is Spinning faster than rear when climbing steep grades. I also run a glitch buster with that savox!! The BEST thing to do is read these forums that have endless posts on anything u need!!! But since u asked...

Rear underdrives 43/13
Softer springs
Relocate everything to front of rig

Drive shafts are a lot more important then upper links and lockouts.

You have a great start.
Again get MIP drive shafts over lockers and gears.

Good point!!! MIP shafts is the best shaft upgrade no question!!! but many just upgrade stock or run traxxas shafts with crawler & budget in mind. Then again no reason to keep buyin plastic unless cutting to fit custom chassis etc...

after doing some reading on here I think I am going to ditch the savox servo and just go with a hitec 7950th would hate to spend $75 on the savox and have problems with it and from what I am reading haven't heard much at all bad about the hitec so think I will go that route

I'd drop all that vanguish stuff off the list and get a set of metal tranny gears and 32p ring and pinion and run it like you stole it

I think you did mention a budget

I'd hate to spend 130 or 150 and have it crap out.

I run currently about 8 75 dollar savox servos with not a single hiccup.

48

Even 48 might last quite awhile

Definatly the 32p gears. The 48p gear didn't last any time on mine. I am running a castle 4600kv brushless.

The good axial shafts are included in the kit already. No need to buy them twice.

Mine is built as a crawler. Save the $100 on the VP stage one kit. I ran mine for a year with all plastic. Just use fine thread 3mm bolts from the start for the chubs, knuckles, and lockouts.

48p gears will be fine. Run the slipper but feel free to crank it down. Set the mesh right and lock it down. Mine has worked great and I run a 27t Torquemaster pro on 3s.

I'd recommend steel tranny gears. I've had good luck with the hot racing set. All three gears for $28.
