Just installed one in my wraith. So far so good, I'm running a 35t on 3s & I'm happy. Not the same as a good brushless by any means but man it makes a nice difference in mine. Tranny seems to work well, but I would purchase the HD output shaft and install it before you drop it in.

Where do you get the heavy duty output shaft? Does the tranny in fact give good crawling speed as well as good top speed?

Can you shift this thing on the go or do you have to stop then shift it? Also what type of ounce capacity for the servo do they recommend? Thanks!

Pretty sure it's a stop and shift tranny, it's quite a jump in gear ratio

ive got one and put it in after maybe an hour of driving on the factory trans. its great im running a 55 turn so low is retarded low creeper speed, then i kick it in high and i got plenty of wheel speed for get up large rocks it seems perfect, i had the idea after driving my wraith the first time and i was gonna make one then i figured id see if someone else had already done it and sure enough. and it comes with 32p gears, a slipper and everything u do have to get your own servo a full size touchs the body under the fake shifter in the cab. i would suggest a mini servo, thats what im about to buy. and u need a radio system that u can adjust the travel on the 3rd channel.

I'm running a Holmes Hobbies BRSL esc, and I just ran to the LHS & grabbed a Hitec 645 mg servo to shift it, it fits fine under the stock interior. A mini servo would should work as well, I believe there are several people using them. You can buy a HD output shaft from RC4WD. The low speed crawling is great with my set up, plenty of control and power. I'm very pleased with mine. I've also noticed it seems to shift fine even if you are traveling along at a slow to moderate speed. And you can either run the stock drive shafts or the MIP's w/ the stock cross pins.

There have been some snap under lots of power where the grooves are machined into the shaft for the c-clips. The new shaft doesn't have the grooves and just uses spacers instead. 3 of the 4 AX-2's in our club have the heavy duty shafts installed, not sure if anyone local has broken one though. I would guess its only really needed with big brushless power on 3s or more.

I'm currently running an ax2 trans with a tekin roc 412 3100 on 3 cell and I've had a great experience so far. In high gear it does around 30-35. I do recommend pulling it apart out of the box and adding grease. They only use a light oil when assembling. I'm still running the stock outputs.

I would think you would be OK with the Novak. Those 412's make a lot of power.

I've had mine since RC4WD first came out with them last year. Really nice and smooth, no issues except the shifting horn needed adjustment. It even impresses fellow crawlers when you can't get up that slippery section in first, I'd back up, shift into second speed, and pin it to win it, my 35 turn motor and gearing it acts like a true 4hi/4lo. Now I want to drop one in my Twin Hammers.

I don't think it will work with the Dig as the servo for the 2 speed takes up room. Motor temps on my unit are always warm. Nothing hot.
