Default MIP drive shafts for Wraith

My Wraith has VP transmission so it needs a longer rear drive shaft. I tried the punisher shaft but they are really sloppy at the pins and I need a longer male shaft for the MIP. I hope someone has the answer to this problem.

Tmaxx shaft cut to length.

Or possibly crawler innovations outputs.

These might be to long for your needs. You might need to shorten the MIPS.

I'm a huge fan of tmaxx shafts cheap and customizable. Not to mention super tuff

you have a vp AX tranny case on a wraith..
that's the problem.

the vp case is off the OG ax10 tranny housing..
shorter outputs than a wraith tranny output.

that's why you have the issue.

swap in a wraith tranny and it'll be fixed.

or as was posted try the crawler innovations outputs.

I'm running a AX10 transmission in my Wraith with Crawler Innovations' extended output drives and all is well now. Not to mention tough as nails!

Or you could use SuperShafty outputs.. One long and one short (stub) gives you the same length as the standard Wraith tranny..

Almost forgot.. With the SS outputs..you need the 6mm bore traxxas MIP ends.. Don't forget that the 6mm bores uses M4 lock screws.. and with the SS outputs the traxxas #1545 lock pins should work.. (if I remember correctly)

I use extended outputs on both ends. Swapping to 6mm hubs on my MIP's will give you about as beefy a setup as easily feasible in the Wraith.

That's a damn spend set.

If going super beefy I'd do extended outputs and revo drive lines. Would save about 40-60 bucks. I'm not sure what the 6mm yokes cost to upgrade the MIPS.

It does sound like the MIPS and long outputs might bolt on.

The revo parts reguire some thought and custom touches to make happen.
This is a revo drive line on my rear end. In running 2000watts on 6s lupo through this.

I've not seen or heard of another revo drive line on the wraith. On the front I've got a tax drive line but I plan to put a extended output on so I can clear the big revo yokes up front.

This is the front tmaxx yoje to 56 32p spurr clearance

So what's the total cost of outputs , MIP shafts and 6mm ends.

Just letting others know that there's options outside of the VP MIP cash flow stream

maxx/revo shafts have been around awhile...

ive seen more of them blow than MIP's..
yeah there cheaper..
also has more of an issue with spur gear sizes..rubbing unless you use the C.I. outputs.

Revo shafts front & rear would be the most expensive option pricing in the c.i. extended output for spur clearance. Then there's the 6mm vs. 5mm hub size problem that the other 2 options don't have. Maxx shafts would be the cheapest option, being that with the right size spur one can get away with stock outputs. Mips are regularly 36.99+shipping at tcscrawlers here. With the addition of the m4 screwpins, required for the thru holes, they're still not that bad of an option.

All of these options have pro's and con's, nothing is perfect. Once you figure out needs and wants things get clearer.

The extended output seems necessary on this thread topic (not for everyone though)

Yes the outputs are spendy that's why my rig sports a front max and rear revo shaft.

For rig that is actually used let's figure in cost to rebuild the MIPs

Rebuilding is just time if initially built correctly, parts aren't usually required unless a set screw comes loose.

Actually I've seen sloppy sloppy MIPS as well as rc4wd punishers.

I'm researching rebuilding them and it seems like 7-26 bucks for parts. A max shaft is about 7 bucks

And yes the traxxass shafts have been around awhile but how folks do you think bought a wraith this year know there a beefy option compared to stock and a fraction the price of MIPS.

Yes they aren't for everyone just like high dollar MIP shafts aren't for me

I used to run Traxxas shafts but stopped long ago when the MIP's became so reasonable. I've never broken a MIP and have twisted more than one Revo. I've also never rebuilt a set of MIP's. I have the original set on my wraith right now that have more than 2 years of run time on them. I can't even say I have properly maintained them. They have been ran dry and rusty for times until the squeaking pissed me off. Only thing different is the 6mm hubs I just added for the chromoly SS outputs.

I prefer just to do it well the first time and forget about it.

A big thanks to all of you. I put the long ends on the MIP's and cut 12 mm off of a old MIP female shaft and mig welded it on the new female shaft. All is well now with a 22 mm longer rear drive shaft. I wanted to stay with MIP and also wanted to have a VP aluminum trans housing.

Been searching and so far this is the closest I have found to what im looking for....I am in the process of doing the super shafty setup with revo driveshafts for now but anyone who has used them tell me how much you had to cut off the front and rear to fit?
Using the extended outputs front and rear.

or if theirs a thread direct me to it....thanks
