Default Shims to help backlash?

Putting a warith together and looking for the shims to go around the pinion to help save my overdrive gears. Thanks for the help.

I've used some washers or whatever I have around that is roughly the same diameter.

5mm shims should do it, lots of companies make em, Losi, Tamiya, HPI to name a few, i did not have to shim mine when i swapped gears, might depend on the bushings/bearings you have in there.

I know that hpi makes some just don't know part number. So was seeing if someone out there might know the part number. Thanks for the help and info.

i use these, work great! Team Durango 5x7x0.2mm Distance Shim Set (10) [TDR709015] | Hardware & Fasteners - A Main Hobbies

installed 2 frt and rear on the outside so the pinion gear couldnt go back in. Tried one on the inside but it was way to tight.

Would using these shims help with the pinion pushing the bearing out?
