Default new poison spyder wraith

Since I bought this wraith I have changed the following: changed the steering servo for a 7980TH, RC4WD irock 2.2's, mounted all the electronics in the rear cage inside a project box so its all water proof. I moved the battery up front, added a few lights and home made light bar. light bar runs off separate 3s battery. also installed a 35t tekin as I blew the stock one in less then two weeks. 20turn dose not like 3s power haha. has always been ran on 3s with the use of the bec. has a 645 servo winch mounted inside the stock receiver box mounting tray. made some inner front fenders. next week ill be ordering more parts though. making the change to brushless power. going with the tekin roc 412 3100kv and either the mmp or the mmwp (sv3)

once I figure out my new computer I will up load photos. right now im having issues uploading to photobucket ever since I switched to windows 8 :(

How do you like the 35t tekin with this setup?

well, its okay I guess. im still running the stock axial esc. I robbed the motor out of my scx 10 since its down due to drive shafts being broken haha. the wraith was the new toy so it got to stay running. the 35t on 3s and stock wraith gearing is more then a brisk walking speed and good low end power. but it has very little wheel speed for hills. I just ordered the tekin roc 412 3100 kv today and will order the rest of the parts on Monday then it will be back to having fun until I break it.

the stock 20turn on 3s was a blast to drive for the short time it lived

There is really no reason for the Mamba Monster. A MMP is more than capable.

but its water proof and it only costs $21.00 more, I guess I can water proof the mmp and save another $21.00

I just realized the mamba monster is sensorless, my buddy told me to use the 1/8th scale but he must have got mixed up or didn't remember. I will for sure be using the mmp and waterproofing it.

now I have a question for you all, you all know of the black fabric some companies are selling for the bashers that keeps the water out? but lets air flow through still. I was thinking about using this product and cutting a hole in the top of my waterproof box to allow air to cool the esc, I use the same fabric on our snowmobiles to keep the snow out so I have some on hand. I would double it up to ensure extra protection and all electronics will be water proofed as well expect for the cooling fan which I have not seen waterproofed before by anyone?

just wondering opinions if I should or should not vent the esc to run cooler. thanks guys

well I cant remember the name its called for r/c truck use? but for snowmobiles, two companies or more use it. the two main companies are SLP ( starling line products) and frogskinz. years ago we tried to buy it in bulk but were unable to find it. SLP dose sell it in different size sheets and is not cheap ( snowmobile stuff is like this) im pretty sure the r/c truck people would be your best bet if you wanted to buy some.

anyways the material is a black nylon type. very similar to ladies leggings but a lot stronger. it has a slippery/silicone feel which repels water yet lets air flow like normal. I have tested this over an container and it will hold a puddle of water with out leaking threw. but there are a few spots I did notice water leaking and it seems like it was where there was a seam. ( the piece I tried was a formed shape for a hood vent from a snowmobile.

im un able to load pictures with my computer for some reason but I will include a link to the stuff im talking about, I am almost certain this would allow you to run your esc with a cooling fan for extra cooling I would double layer it to be extra safe as well. here is the link:

https://www.startinglineproducts.com...6#.Uc-uyU0WLcs
I cant seem to find the listing for the bulk sheets

here is frog skinz these may be more of use as there more like a sticker. they have a sticky perimeter and screen center and come in various sizes

Is there a big difference in speed between the 2S to the 3S on the stock motor? What about crawling, what is the affect with the 3S?

yes, there was a jump in speed from 2s-3s. the effect on the motor was the gearing was to high as i left it stock for the extra speed, the crawling i found was not the best there was not grunt with the stock motor, i used the speed to jump up the rocks lol. but the motor could not handle the heat, it started to what we call melt down in snowmobile terms. i knew it was failing so i kept running threw a muddy puddle and finally it locked up. the plastic fan melted off, the one brush/tab broke off and the magic smoke appeared the wife almost puked from the smell though when we had to drive home haha.

You should have changed the Spur and Pinion when going to 3S...
As I'm buying the Wraith for more crawling than bushing ot jump up rocks (), I think I'll start with 2S.

yes i probably should have but, i knew it was not going to be what i wanted. i really wanted the speed and low end power the roc 412 will have

also might get the 4s cap fr the tekin fxr, then i can run up to 4s on my wroncho with the 35t
