Default Wraith or scx10 please help

Hey guys I got an scx10 kit from tower haven't opened it yet. I'm wondering if I should return it for a wraith? I want to make a bash truck that's fast (pro4 brushless mmp) and can still crawl. I like scale bodies but I like how the wraith looks as well. So I really want to know what would take a beating better. It seems that wraith should have better suspension travel than the scale chassis but I do not know.
I like 2.2 as well...

Mossi put this in the scx10 as well if that's not ok remove one. Just trying to get wraith owners and scx10 opinions.

I would go Wraith, not because I own one, but the Wraith does, like you said, have the better suspension setup. The Scx 10's Shocks are staight up and down which is not good for anything. The Wraith's shocks are angled which means bettter shock travel which gives better travel. My .02

I have both and like them both. BUT my scx10 now has wraith axles and 2.2s, longer wheelbase and suspension like the wraith. So I guess I do like the wraith better since it's closer to what I like out of the box. But I love how my scx10 performs now to.

I'd say both. Run the SCX10 and have fun then pick up a wraith or at least wraith axles for it later.

If you are wanting a fast rock racer/ basher with insane brushless power then the Wraith would be a better choice. If you can afford it, I would order the Wraith and keep the SCX10 since a lot of people end up with both. That way you won't be out the shipping and any return fees.

I have 2 scx10's and love them, but I just ordered a poison spider wraith that is going to get a castle creations brushless system for bashing. My opinion on them is that the wraith is more of a all around do anything truck where a scx10 is setup more for slower more scale/crawling driving. That's just my opinion

I have both and as far as working on it, the scx10 is MUCH friendlier. The wraith is just a pain in the ass to get to the powertrain. Done it so many times but still hate taking it apart to play with motor and gear changes.

Right,if you can I'd say both. I've got a few of each...I like the scale driving and crawling of the scx10 more but just me. But it's your money brother, but I'd order metal trans gears when you order the pro4 that's speaking from experience

Both.a vid on you tube inspired me to start looking into crawling. ill try and find it and post a link. but it was of scx10's super tuned with hard bodys that look super real. and i was hooked. got a wraith first because kinda fell on my lap and i was racing sc so it kinda coincided with fast/basher/brushless of shortcourse. im glad i got the wraith first because there was a steep learning curve now i know what i wanna do with both vehicles. crawler/fast wraith with semi/high dollar sensored electronics. crawler/slow scale scx10 fully loaded brushed w/ scale accessories

Sounds like you have talked yourself into a wraith. Return it and get the more capable rig

For a basher/crawler i would go with the Wraith, it is wider than the SCX, which means more stable and handle better at speeds and the Wraith is better built to handle bash abuse. There is also the EXO suspension mod for independant front suspension.

I have both a Wraith and a SCX-10,it's the only way to go. If you want to bash go Wraith,if you want to comp and go scale go with an SCX-10.

I agree with THUNDER PRO. I have had multiple variations of both rigs and I think for bashing the Wraith wins hands down but for all out scale appearance and functionality I think the SCX10 are superb trucks. I personally enjoy my JK SCX much more than any of the Wraith's I've had even though I first started with the Wraith and thought the SCX10 wasn't cool at all. I built my first Wraith with all the goodies, Tekin Roc, Vanquish, RR and more and still ended up back to the SCX. As far as crawling, they both have their benefits. I have tried many, many lines here in our desert playground with both trucks and I can honestly say that they both are very capable. There are lots of lines the Wraith can't do that the SCX can and vice versa. Speed wise, the Wraith is a rock racer and therefore it was designed to be faster and take on larger obstacles at speed. That doesn't mean the SCX won't do it, just not as well as the Wraith. I really like having both trucks just so I can try all the different runs with both rigs and have different looks when I want. Hopefully you will have a chance to own both at some point!

I would use the frame that came with the kit. but if ur gonna let the kit go I would buy a wraith not a scx10 "thing". because that's what you'llbe left with

Ha, I'm in the same boat as the OP. I ordered a SCX10 from tower that's hasn't even arrived yet and I'm still wondering if I should get a wraith instead or just have both. Decisions decisions.
