Default Traxxas 2075 servo - need BEC?

This is the only waterproof servo that my LHS has in stock.

Would it need a BEC?

I've heard of the Hitec servos but I don't know which specific model part number so I don't know what other servos are good with water.

That servo has less then half the torque a crawler should have so I doubt you would need a bec.

The 2075 is very close to stock so the stock ESC should handle it just fine...no need for an external BEC. If you move into the 200oz or more range or use a 3s battery on the stock AE-2, you'll need an external BEC

I am going to suggest that you look at another servo. The Traxxas 2075 has 125oz of torque with plastic gears whereas the stock wraith servo is Bluebird sevo (very closely related to BMS-820DMG) with 130oz @ 4.8v and METAL gears. This servo can operate at 6.0v giving you about 140oz or more depending on who you ask. The traxxas servo isnt rated to handle 6v although I'm sure some have tested and say it will work, I dont know.

Do you plan to submerge your rig completely in water for extended amounts of time? If not, you may not need a waterproof servo. If you're looking for waterproof, there are home remedies to make any servo waterproof. ***Remember, the Axial AE-2 ESC is not waterproof***

I think there is a Hitec HS-5646WP that will give you about 155oz at 6.0v but to get to 6v you will need an External BEC. Around 50$ online.

Well my LHS has the CC 10A BEC @ $21. My original servo of choose was the Savox SC 1230SG. 500oz @ 6v if my memory serves me correctly.

Traxxas doesn't make a servo that will like being run offroad without a servo saver, let alone have enough torque. Do yourself a favor and buy a titanium gear hitec. I run a used 7955 on 7v in my wraith. I waterproofed the board with conformal coating and filled the case with dielectric grease. It's now 100% water proof, has lots of torque, bullet proof gears, isn't blue and cost me $50.

That traxxas servo wouldn't last 5 minutes in the average wraith. You ideally want 300oz of torque or more. Titanium gears are good too, very little chance of gear failure.
