I have a metal 72 tooth spur for/from my emaxx. Honestly i wouldnt run it and I would happily give it away to someone who asked for it. All it ever did was eat pinions. I got it for free with a bunch of old parts. It will fit my wraith with my extended outputs but i still wouldnt run it. When people talk about getting a metal spur, in the back of my mind i cant understand how people run them without issue.

On a standard pinion, you more than likely are tearing off the plating that was on the pinion, it will fail at some point. When using a steel spur, you should also use a hardened steel pinion for longevity, such as one from RRP's Absolute line. There are other manufacturers that make hardened steel pinions so do a little shopping around. | |
