| Just ordered Wraith kit!
Decided to take the plunge and grab a Wraith kit. I love my SCX-10 but I want something a little bigger. Plans are: MMP ESC with...some brushless motor. Not too sure on what kind. Looking at the sensored Tekin ROC's. This will be running on 3s. I know I want to lower the ride height right away, stock sits too high for me. What is the better way to do this? New shocks or new shock mounts? I'll be replacing the tranny internals right away. Not sure if I should go with Robinson gears or Hot Racing gears. Are they essentially the same? Is it worth it to get the stainless RC Screwz and a Fast Eddy bearing kit right away or does the Axial supplied hardware do the trick? I live less than 15 minutes from the Uwharrie National Forest, so that's gonna be my main playing spot. |

Nice start for sure.... Pick up Fast Eddie's bearings and get a Harley hardware package....best bang for your money. Go thru the truck pretty good before running it. Check your grease in the tyranny and axles, also check for loose screws ..... Good luck . You will enjoy this rig |

Not to sure shu to get fast Eddy bearings . I'm still convinced that's just a buy me marketing thing. I think that the come in sets is cool but the bearingins themselves can be bought anywhere from the local dollar store to online ceramic high dollar bearings that make fast eddies mist likely china stuff shrivel and die. Good bolts and hardware will be nice. Get rid of those wood screws. Rx8 with a 1800-2650 kV motor would be super badass |

Get the rc4wd axles. VP cost to much for the little performance gain |

Full metal Hr tranny Hot Racing Axial AX-10 Scorpion Crawler RC Car upgrades and Hop-ups I ran a set of under drive hr gears in my area axle and they Lastex a hole 2 battery packs. Granted that was on ,5 and 6 s. The hr tranny gears do seem to have good reviews but I haven't tried them. My tranny is full of Robinson gears and they've survived almost a year on higher then normal voltage. Installed punished and forgotten. The hot racing fully loaded tranny does seem to be a good deal and has a metal 32p spur installed |

Sucks to be you. Your bank account is fearing for it's life as we speak. Modifying shocks will be the easiest and best way to lower it IMO. I use HR steel tranny gears in all of my Axial rigs. I don't do brushless but my Wraith has a 27T handwound HH motor that runs exclusively on 3s and my gears look like brand new when I crack the case open to grease and inspect. I source my own quality 3mm hardware from Mcmaster Carr and other places (some stuff can be found at local hardware stores if they are good) I have never bothered with a package deal all at once. As for bearings. The kit bearings will be fine. My Wraith is 2 years old with MANY miles on it and all bearings are original and roll smooth as silk. There is an issue concerning the axle pinion bearings failing with big brushless power but that's for someone else to explain. The Currie axles are VERY nice. I have them and am extremely happy with them. It isn't as easy to get to the diff gears as it was with the stock axles, that is the only con in my opinion, but it's a minor point. |

Nothing wrong with steel HR tranny gears. Have had mine for over a year with a pro4. I use 3.5 shocks to lower mine. Good choice in ESC and motor. I would get some good 3m fine thread screws to replace most of the screws that come with it.

Looks like Harley is sold out of the hardware kit. Any other recommendations on a kit? Purchased a Castle Link today. How I managed to use my BRXL without it confounds me. For now I'll probably drop my Holmes gear and Hitec 7950 into the Wraith until I feel comfortable buying all the brushless gear. Saw the Vanquish standard Wraith metal axles today. Really digging those. |

Question...looking at the online building instructions, does the Wraith kit include beadlocks?

| Re: Just ordered Wraith kit! That kind of rubs me the wrong way. Its as expensive or more than the SCX-10 Kit, and that kit included real beadlocks and metal steering linkages, not to mention full metal links instead of just the lowers. Oh well. Guess I'll buy the 2.2 Axial standard beadlocks for now. Have my eye on the VP Methods but I'll wait on those. Planning on ordering the HB full gear set, a RR steel slipper set, and full VP steering links (the stock links look weak). |

you might consider making your own steering links. I orderd the VP links...they hit the pumpkin pretty badly...turns out you needed the chubs and Knuckles and the 8* racing arms to go with it...all VP of course. There are others out there that are a good alternative.... |

Was planning on buying the VP Performance upgrade in the next few weeks. I'll wait to replace those steering links until I get that upgrade then.
