| VP panhard hits servo and axle...
Okay, just installed my STRC steering links, c-hubs and knuckles. I bought this used on here (although it looks brand new) with the panhard installed. And the STRC stuff came with it nib. That's the background on this Wraith, now the problem I can't figure out is the panhard was hitting the servo and the axle limiting the articulation. The pics below should show the problem. You can see how much of the shock rod is left when it hits the servo. I tried moving the panhard to the next hole and made it worse. Any ideas or is this normal? Oh, the wraith also has aluminum lowering or lifting mounts for the shocks. This is going to be just used as a crawler. I haven't even run this thin yet! Thanks in advance! This thing is gonna ROCK! |

Use the lower hole in the bracket. It will help.

Unless absolute scale appearance is crucial to you, tear all that out and put the servo on the axle and 4 link it. All your problems will go away and you'll have a better suspension with stronger dependable steering. |

Slide the CMS bracket back farther before you clamp it to the chassis. On my wraith i could get the panahard bar to just slide behind the axle truss, but i still had about 1/4" of shock shaft showing. I tore that junk off and went with a dinky s link and was much happier |

I also run the dinky S-mount and top notch. Helps beef up axle too. For me it was a win win. CMS is scale look.

So basically, there really is no way to make it work without the panhard bottoming out before the suspension does? Seems an expensive part not to work correctly. I did lower the shock mounts and put the link in the lower hole, seems to work better, but I was wanting to keep the cg as low as possible. I think it will work for what I need. If it tips over alot I may have to go with the dinky s mount. I do appreciate the help. Thanks guys. |

Agreed.. if you want scale, you'll make it work. If the looks don't much bother you, go with a servo on the axle. The 2 pics that are required, you didn't take. One from the front to show how parallel the drag link is to the panhard bar and one from the drivers side perpendicular to the axle/panhard rod to show the alignment. It may just be a combination of clocking the front axle a bit to tilt the upper link mount forward and sliding the servo mount back a bit before hitting the clamping screws. |

I'll also push for the dinky mount. I do really like the scale looks of the cms. |

Will the VP drag link work with the dinky s mount?

The long one works but need a shorter rod to make work.

I am not sure if this will work but it might be worth a shot, you could use a bent rod end to lower the panhard bar on the chassis Side so it will clear the servo.

I doubt that its limiting articulation, just compression. Articulate the axle from one side to the other, I bet the shocks will bottom out or at least come close to it. The only time you'd have to worry about limited compression is when you're taking it off some sweet jumps. |

It looks like one of the upper links is removed. If you still have all 4 pull an upper. Bend the panhard to clear the chassis as needed it's not a big deal. As said put the panhard in the lower hole on the axle bracket so the angles are the same as the drag link.
