I don't see why the EXO diff wouldn't fit. Same diff gear housing.

I used HPI gears. It is a great setup having an open front diff!! Especially for speed Wraiths. Cuts donuts much better too.

I think these are what I used plus a Golden Horizon aluminum diff case.

Golden Horizon - High quality CNC machined aluminum RC car option, hop up parts and accessories.

Then i added super thick oil like this:

Couldn't you use a little bit of silly putty so it won't move much, like a lsd?

It'd be better than fully locked but still move a bit.

Use the parts for the open diff from the AX10 Scorpion.

AX30390 - Axial Differential Gear Set
AX30170 - Axial Shaft 3x22
AXA1162 - Axial O-Ring 5x1mm

Yes and look for a metal diff cup that can accomadate 4 spider gears on two cross shafts, not just two spiders and one shaft...not sure if there's one that fits, but probably is. HPI Savage diffcup is 4 spider setup...

I think you mean 20,000 or 50,000 diff oil. Anything like 2k would be water in there and would be more like no resistance. I'm waiting for a detroit locker....

Would it not be better to leave the rear diff open and lock the front. Seems like this would give you better crawlability but also with the rear open give you a better turn radius!

Silly putty sucks for me...maybe I bought really old stuff but it was waaaaaaaaaay to hard. The thick oil is the best stuff and so far has been great! I did my open diff differently so each to their own. In my case buying the Exo parts would have cost me more than the HPI.

yeah, I built mine with used parts from the AX10 Scorpion RTR before the Exo came out... I think I paid shipping for the gears. No one wanted them back then.

For my monster trucks, that use Wraith axles, or something like that, here is what I do for an open diff..

For the diff housing - GCM makes a billet housing. Works PERFECT..
GCM Racing WebStore-2013 - Axial EXO Buggy Diff

For the Gears, HPI gear set, comes with shims, works GREAT.
TowerHobbies.com | HPI Racing Differential Bevel Gear Set Wheely King
or these
TowerHobbies.com | HPI Racing Gear Diff Bevel Gear Set 10T/13T Blitz

So far I haven't blown one up. I don't use silly putty, though it is a great idea, I pack them tight with Lucas Red and Tacky. Since the axle shafts don't have O-rings, it's impossible to keep diff fluid inside.

I know there are products out there, that are thick like silly putty, that are meant to lock up diffs under high load, but work like normal under slow speed conditions..

Yeah a Detroit locker would be awesome in one of these but probably too small and complicated parts for those with big fingers.
