Default Is this a dead steering servo?

I am new to this hobby
For my first truck picked up the Wraith and have been loving it! Possibly to the death of my steering servo motor.

Not knowing what a dead servo motor behaves or sounds like ... i shot this quick video of my issue.
(the sound you hear comes from the steering servo motor)

Wraith Steering Servo - YouTube

When the horn is hooked up the steering motor makes the same grinding sound you can hear as when i apply the small pressure twist to it unconnected as seen in the video. its like the motor is not 'catching' internally and grinding gears or skipping.

You can also see even turning the controller makes the motor "grind".

Is this a dead servo motor?
If so recommendation for a replacement?
I am mostly into trail running with it so far.

thanks in advance!

My friend its a goner those servos do not hold up long you have to drive real real easy on them. Its def fried and trash. I run a cheap 19$ servo and to date I'm on #3 most people on here will just say buy a titanium gear servo to replace it...do some research they are great but with a stock radio they don't work to their full potential and you have to add stuff like a bec and once you do that all that power in the servo will likely break a steering component. There's a ton of info on here however so you can make your own decision.

Amain hobbies sells the Solar D772 for $20. High voltage, high torque with ball bearings and metal gears. You will need an external BEC to run this. This is an alternative if you don't want to spend $100+ on a good hitec or savox servo. I run a couple of these and have not had any problems so far.

Yea, I bought a wraith a while back and ran into the same problem. I called axial and they sent me a replacement since I had only owned the truck for a week when it went out. The replacement had half the power of the original and also died. So I decided to go ahead and upgrade to a savox 1231. Good servo with plenty of power, but be aware that once you upgrade to a more powerful servo those plastic steering links have to go. They bend and cause the truck to have problems steering.
