Default Looking to go brushless..Holmes Hobbies?

Looking to go brushless with my 1.9 Wraith. I'm considering the Holmes Hobbies Trailmaster Pro with a Mamba Max Pro. Priced right around $200. Then I also looked at the HH Revolver out-runner, but they are out of stock. Looking to get good crawling control but also be able to pick up some good speed through the dirt and clay fields.

Anyone have experience with either of these motors?

I have a MMP and I like to keep the motor in t he 2800kv-3200kv range.. mate them up with a 3s 50C-60C pack and you will ne verry happy. I have two pole sensored motors. But the four pole will give you un-godly tork

The HH pro is a 2 pole, 3100kv. What type of run time are you getting with a pack like that? I have two 3s packs but I think they are 20 or 30c.

I have 2 rigs with the 79.00 holmes hobbies trailmaster motors in them...they run with my roc412 3100kv all day long..they have gobs of torque and excellent wheel speed...running 3s 35c 4000mah packs on a 5.09 gear ratio (pinion 11t and spur 56t)...DrDiff has seen them run! I get about 2-3 hours trailing time depending on conditions...All of my rigs run castle MMP sensored ESC's

That's a good amount of battery life! My packs are a half that size at 2200. I found a MMP on eBay shipped for $69. I just need to make a decision on on the HH motor.

Is that traxxas esc sensored? If not it will have poor bottom end & startup!

Ok so I have the MMP on the way, and also ordered the Holmes brushless Trail Master Pro. What do you guys recommend for gearing? Right now I have 84/16. Could I stick with this for now? I do have a 15t pinion somewhere too.

I've never tried any of the Holmes BL motors but I have good luck with a couple others in my Wraith. I've ran the Tekin 13.5 and the Novak Ballistic 13.5, both with good luck! I think as long as you stay sensored and gear it right you will love BL.

All of the Robinson Racing 32P spurs with 54 tooth say they are meant for Traxxas Slash or Stampede. Can I use these? Anything different?

Yeah SuperShafty makes a Beefy top shaft meant for the RR slipper off of a 2wd Traxxas Slash. So you can use the slipper designed for the Slash on a wraith or scx. The beefy top shaft is like $24 I think.

So I can't use that spur gear unless I use a slash slipper and a supershafty shaft?

I just want 32 pitch gears for the wraith. Seems like all the 54t spurs I find say for Slash.

Towerhobbies sells a Duratrax 56t 32p spur that's bolt on to stock slipper. Also fit under spur cover. It's for the Nitro Evader if I remember right and cost $4. Does great on my Wraith with Pro4 and I don't see the need for the expensive SS beefy or RR gears. You can also use some Traxxas spurs but I can't remember the part # numbers. Google will give you some

I'll second the duratrax nitro evader spur. I have one in my wraith and had one in my scx before going to the dinky ddk

Edit: dtxc9397 is p/n for the 56t 32p gear

Duratax and some traxxas 32p spurs bolt on.

I'd recommend 58-60 32p spur

If you are going brushless you need a steel spur gear!

Not true plastic will work if your mesh is right.
