Yes they fit just fine on all stock but will raise it without the droop kit. The resavoir will get a little in the way on the front end in certain positions, if it is and you really need it in that slot just take the resavoir off if you can handle the look. The resavoirs are non functioning so won't bother anything but your eyes. Good luck I love mine even without the droop kit, I took rear lower VP links off and put stocks back on and backwards, mounted shocks to the closest hole to the axle on the link, front shocks still on axle. This crawls so much better this way I wish I would of done rear trailing arms instead now.

Nice video, I was interested in their 120mm shocks but for $40 a pair they need to function better than that straight from the package. You should just buy some shocks that don't leak and perform well from the start with optional pistons, springs and spring cups available for tuning. I'm running Team Associated Factory Team 1.32" stoke on my Wraith and the same length in blue RtR shocks on my Dingo. Wraith shocks below are from kit #90020. The shocks seen in the video appear to be the smaller diameter Axial shocks like what's on my Dingo, I believe those are 7mm bore. The flash makes the AE shocks look silver, but they're actually gray. |

The shocks in the video are RC4WD King shocks, and it's known there are better shocks out there, this is about getting the Kings to work well for those that want to run them for their scale looks.

Associated 7480 Factory Team V2 Shocks1.32" New | eBay These have more travel than the stock Wraith and King 110mm shocks and are the same length as the stock 10mm bore Wraith if you use the long Axial rod ends from parts tree 80034 (#9). You also use the Axial pivot balls for the rod ends and the hat bushings from parts tree 80018 to mount the top (# 1 pivot balls, # 3 hat bushings). The 10mm bore Wraith springs will also fit. The stock Wraith hardware is used to mount them. I also bought #1582 spring set (2), there are 5 pair of different rate springs for $10, and #9734 optional spring cups (2 pair) to go with them. I have several Associated vehicles and these parts will fit most of them as well. | |

They do have scale appearance, personally I think the Gmade XD and Zero Shock look better and the XD are a true reservoir shock, but appearance is of course subjective and I generally prefer the darker colors. Travel on the King 110mm is just 25mm (.98") and the 103mm XD is only 31mm (1.22" stroke). I'm getting 33.3mm (FT) and 34.4mm (RtR) (1.31" and 1.35") from the AE 1.32" stoke and nothing on my trucks had to change to install them. Stock travel on the Wraith 10mm/variable rate shocks I measured is 27.9mm (1.1") travel. The stock Dingo shocks actually looked and performed much better with an aluminum body upgrade (Axial parts), they don't seem to be leaking yet either. I'm sure the 10mm bore variable rate piston shocks that came with my Wraith kit will be the same if I decide to upgrade them. However, shock/suspension travel was just too short with either one so I moved over to the AE shocks. Dropping $80 for a set that don't work is steep especially if/when using the Axial titanium nitride shaft, but if you've already bought/acquired a set then those improvements are your best option and certainly much cheaper than buying a set of functional shocks. |

I have done 114mm shocks, but in the Kyosho red cap velvets. Smoothest shocks ever IMO. Yes pre-built and $. Worth it IMO. With my AMF droop kit (I recommend over level 3 - I have each) I can set it higher, lower or at stock height. Test your positions so you get full up and down travel. |

Ok, Built one with 100wt, and one with 1k diff oil. The one with 100wt I did use some associated orings with green slime, the 1k diff oil green slime and the o rings that came with the shock. they both seem really good as far as rebound, will run them, but Im skeptical, hope they don't leek. If they don't leek I can tune them forsure to my liking. I do have a droop kit coming soon from level3rc. Last edited by desertdude; 01-19-2015 at 01:32 PM. |
