Thanks! I've left out some of the bracing to wait till I get the overall form mocked up. Then the plan is to go in and add all the ever important triangles for strength. Remember kids, triangulation is your friend.

The stinger is going to be tricky. 4 bends in 2 different planes...

Yes, definitely the one trick bend in the chassis. There is the option of cutting it into 3 pieces and sleeving the joints if you want to make the bends easier but increase the number of joints.

Got a little more done tonight. Took a few close ups of my not so pretty brazing.

Trying to blend the joints together. Using too much brazing rod to try to cover up my not so precise tube notching.

Got the front stinger bent up. Not sure what the best process would have been on that, but I managed to only totally screw up one piece of rod. Hopefully will get that mounted up tomorrow and then work on figuring out how to mount up the skid.

Your getting it done Boover, The stinger is one of my favourite bits on this chassis.

Snow day in Alabama so I've made some progress.

Need to just finish up some rear bracing and decide if I want to do some kind of spare mount. Then figure out how to actually tie it in to the skid. Harley's plans have been awesome.

Nice! Good job Boover.

I can't help you with how to tie it up as I don't know.

Now get it finished & mounted so we can see it in all its glory

Mad dog RC has some nice laser cut pieces that line up with a Wraith skid. Otherwise some 16 gauge and a few holes should do it.

I was out of town for the weekend so no real progress. But I did snap a couple shots of the chassis just sitting on the skid. Trying to get my mind turning for how I want to do the shock mounts, rear bracing, and the sliders/boat sides. Really trying to picture how I want the overall look to go from here. Maybe make body panels and try to adapt a JK hood? Hmmm...

Maybe buy a poison spyder wraith body and making panels out of it?

That is definitely one of the options I've been considering, and it is definitely the simplest. Maybe I will buy the body to use the hood and just use the rest as a template to make some aluminum panels.

Or I could go all out and try to make a seperate grill, hood, and fenders like the 1:1. But... that sounds a little ambitious. We shall see.

Now on to shock mounts...

She's a roller!!

It's definitely nowhere close to perfect, but I'm pretty happy with how it came out! Just needs a fair bit of grinding and sanding before paint. My front shock mounts need a little time with the dremel for a little trimming. Right now I'm leaning towards just a poison spyder body, but would love some other suggestions.

Looks great man! Nice work.

I really like using .025" aluminum for flat side panels and then throw a seperate hood panel on it.

The Proline Wraith JK body would make a good hood donor also.

The latest challenge is trying to figure out the best way to fit a 5000 mah battery in this thing. I think I've got a decent idea about how to get it done. I think I'll make a large "dash" and have it under that slanted just over the front of the transmission. If that makes any sense...

Battery and electronics tray set in yesterday. Forgot to snag some more pics of it all wired up. But I just mounted the ESC right in front of the battery and put the original receiver box on top of the transmission. Ran it around the yard. Pretty happy with everything! Still running the original Spawn shocks. Need something a tad shorter I think. Extra weight is definitely going to help finish off the motor faster too. I'll have to give HH a call pretty soon.

Now on to fabbing body panels!

Good Job Boover, Looks great all mounted up.

Any reason for not putting the upside down V bar section in the front windshield area? I think it would look cool. Also any plans to to primer/paint the cage?
