| What are the best Servo Mount options?
I know there is the VP Pan-hard setup but I'm wondering what other options there are. Looking to eliminate the regular slop from the screws working loose on the stock type on axle setup. I believe on axle is still preferable for steering compared to the pan-hard? I have seen the DinkyRC mount which looks promising? |

before I did much research I bought the RC4WD CMS kit and have been very happy. I'm still a rookie at this sport so I haven't noticed the bump steer or other issues that the vetrans complain about. I simply bought it for the looks and have been really happy with the quality of the parts and how its performed. |

See I like the Dinky....But then I live in a climate where it is Wet and part of me say get that servo up high! But I'm sure I read on axle is better.

I have the VP setup. The rig is still under construction so I cant speak from a performance standpoint. But I have noticed that if you run a low ride height ( I plan to) the articulation is slighly limited on one side when the panhard hits the frame. Shouldnt be too bad. The effect looks minimal. The main thing with any CMS is to have the panhard bar and draglink as parallel as possible throughout the suspension stroke. This is where people have bumpsteer problems. That said, that Dinky axle mount does look good... And having the servo there means less sprung chassis weight and lower CG than any cms. There's always a trade-off. I live in Oregon and it is wet and mossy here as well. Get that weight low up front. Axle mount is the most efficient use of servo torque. |

Yeah I think the Dinky is winning. I'm waning to function rather than form. The Stock plate method has to go. It's actually all metal now and it still flexes and screws come loose and my servo is not a complete power house....only 277oz. Saying that looks like the Dinky is as rare as rocking horse poop! It also is steel so it adds some weight with that strength (right where I like it.) Dlux makes a sweet AR60 mount as well out of carbon fiber. AR60/Wraith Servo/Truss/Link mount | |

Being UK based it's hard to get the parts sometimes. Always a nice Customs charge to. :(

I've had the vp cms for over a year. It works great. Yea there is a little bump steer but that's the cost of a cms. I'm running a futaba servo pushing over 500 inoz and that takes care of my steering issues, if any. But it all comes to personal preference. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Or you could do something a little more direct.. (Not mine. Just liked the idea.) |

| Re: What are the best Servo Mount options? I was going to go with that set up but I could have sworn somewhere on one of the threads that the suicide switch steering was hard on servos? They called it a servo killer, any truth to that? |

I used that suicide steer setup for awhile, it works pretty good but it is a servo KILLER! Funny you said that /\ I use Saxox 1230's pretty much in all my rigs and that setup was the only one that killed one. Last edited by Norton; 03-14-2015 at 11:46 PM. |

I don't know about killing servos but that wouldn't steer perfectly right. The arc of rotation on the servo horn would basically increase toe in as you turn. The result would make it so the inside tire never turned as sharp as the outside.

| Re: What are the best Servo Mount options? Bummer deal! Thanks for insight, I too use the Savox 1230 in all my rigs. Hard to beat 500 in. oz. for 80.00 or less.
