| Zero ackerman ?
Is a zero ackerman setup worth it for a fastish, non crawling wraith?.. Does it reaaly make them corner any better, I suspect an open front diff would make a bigger difference. There seems to be a lot of zero ackerman steering plates out there, but very few shortened tie rods. I'm assuming the tie rod is shorter on this setup. What did axial do for a tie rod when they supplied a plate .... I'm yet to see an axial zero ackerman tie rod.... Yes I'm new to these beasts and I might be totally on the wrong path.... In the last few weeks, I have bought two wraiths...(one new and one 2nd hand) one will be a crawler and one won't. Input appreciated..... Paul. |

Vanquish Products makes a Racing Ackerman tie rod. (Located here.) Note that you'll need the steering arms as well to make this work correctly. As for if it's worth it or not.. That I've got no clue. |

I'd personally go with a LSD mod for the front diff. If you don't crawl at all, then... Well, I'm seriously thinking about doing limited slip for both front and rear. All in all, having a proper ackerman angle is better than having no ackerman angle, and no ackerman is better than having opposite ackerman (like stock). So, yeah, you probably would see some benefit at speed with a zero ackerman angle kit... And you're probably right, an open or limited slip front diff would help more. |
