But getting back to the topic is this really the body from the spawn kit if it is and the box top shows with cut off flares this would be like a surprise bonus to have the option with flare on or off.Like me I was thinking of buying this kit and i like it more now with the flares....
Even Axial doesn't show with the flares, just red body with no flares....
Again sorry about the last post......
All good.

Yes, this is the body that came with my kit, and presumably others. I'm pretty happy about it actually, as I'm going the 1.9 route and narrower axles, so having fenders will be a bonus. I was definitely surprised. I doubt that in stock guise with 2.2's that you'd be able to keep the fenders.

OK all good.
Well that good news. With 2.2 could make monster truck and keep the fender flares on.I guess it's time for another kit, like i need one.I've been looking at this kit for a while. Now that the body has flares i like the kits more then the RTR and i guess you know more fun to build and upgrade in the kits and like this body. Now off to the LHS....
Looking forward to this build

Yes, great build.

Anyone seen a part number or link for the body by itself?

Looks great, but I agree...doubt if it'll work that great on 2.2s.

If you're referring to the Spawn body it's part number AX31176.

Axial show the Spawn body with the flares still on where they stuck it on an SCX10 with a Deadbolt cage inside.

Hmm. So I painted the body and added a few stickers.

After looking at the axle width and this body, I'm thinking I'll go down to SCX width and get some wheel tucking.

SCX width is best imo. Love those knuckles and C's though. Would be hard for me to loose if it was my rig. lol

Meh, I'll just swap the axles entirely and plop these on a next year build. Not to worry!

That looks swell!

Ya know, I considered getting the Spawn body for my full wheelbase SCX10, but the idea was left on the back burner. However, inspired by a certain vendor's recent moving sale, I ordered the Wraith Spawn kit (not to be opened until Christmas).

I've been reading how some have cut the body up, to make the cage more accessible, but I think I like the body too much to do that. After looking at the fully flared body again, I think I might have to set the kit-included body aside for my SCX10, after all. In its place, I may cut up my original Deadbolt body (as I've also seen done by others), or get some fresh panels, and make a more traditional Wraith. If I went the route of using my old Deadbolt body on the Wraith, I could use the cage for the Spawn on my SCX10 (as was done, in similar fashion, for that official Axial Spawn pic).
