| RC4WD King Shocks 110mm
Hey guys I broke one of my stock shocks recently and have been debating whether to fix it or just get RC4WD king shocks. Does anyone know what the stock shocks length is compared to the king shocks 110mm? Also how do the RC4WD king shocks rank up against the stock shocks? Are they a good replacement shock? I like them because of the scale look and blue color. Lastly, Do they come with oil in them already??? Thanks Last edited by 123nanez; 07-13-2015 at 08:04 PM. |

Stock Wraith shocks are roughly 100-103mm from center-to-center of the mounting holes.

The consensus around here a while ago was that they look really cool, but are terrible shocks. No idea what the new group of geniuses think From what I've seen, they are smaller in diameter than the factory shocks, that's a bad thing. There are also big bore king shocks that are supposed to be much better, but they don't look the same. |

If I were looking for scale shocks I would probably end up with the Pro-Line "Scalers", but they're not piggy-back style. Pro-Line's are great, well made shocks, but I chose the G-Made Zero 104mm for the Wraith because I liked the design and wanted the red shock bodies. I've also run Associated 1.32" stoke V2 shocks on the Wraith without a problem. | |

I ran them for about 4 months.... junk in my opinion. They leak...BAD. I was rebuilding them every other outing... I gave them to my buddy anbd he went back to his stock wraith shocks after one outing. Don't plan on jumping with them at all, I even bought stiffer springs and was disappointed with $100 down the drain. The spring cups fall out and go missing regularly. They look way cool but they just ended up being not practical at all. I went to the gmade piggy backs. I like them but wish I would have gone with a longer length. I went 93mm and I don't have as much flex as I would like due to shorter shafts. I would order the gmades again but in a 103mm length and without the piggy back option only because the reservoir limits mounting options.

DO NOT GET THE KINGS FOR WRAITH! horrible shocks, stock is much better, get the new kit shocks, proline shocks, g-made XD, or Traxxas E-maxx alu with losi springs. Have yet to find shocks from RC4WD that work. The kings have to big holes in the piston ring thingy, so the oil passes so easy it has no dampening effect, combined with really soft springs, makes the wraith really wobbely. See no point in buying expensive shocks that need lot of work and mods to work, and even if you get smaler holes on the piston, and thicker oil, stiffer springs, and better seal to stop leaking, cheaper springs would still outpreform them by a mile. Edit: have some 110mm i got on a used Wraith, did not stay on there for long. At the moment I am testing them on a Ascender, and its one of the best uses I have found for them, they work somewhat OK there until I get replacements, cus stock ascender shocks was not good either. But I overhaled the shocks when changing them from Wraith to Ascender, and it seemed like they water had leaked in to the oil an emulsioned so they was filled with a grey masjoaise like goo. hard as hell to clean out. Also the ring that links the two sage shocks together shoud been in plastic or someting, there is to much friction with alu against alu. Probaly best to mount the springs up side down. So the more I think about them thus more bad things come to mind about these. Yuck :S Last edited by AngelowDoom; 07-14-2015 at 06:56 PM. |

| Re: RC4WD King Shocks 110mm I used an o-ring to seal up the G-Made 104mm Zero. They were leaking where the seal cartridge and shock body meet, an o-ring on the seal cartridge took care of it. G-Made has added the same or similar o-ring to the XD/XD Piggy Back shock kits.

Zero shocks is also bad, but there XD series is good with or without piggyback, I like the diaphragm ones.
