Default Xtra Speed Steering

Hey Guys.
I have finally received my Xtra Speed Steering ans just mounted it.
Seems to be very solid - so I'm looking forward for the next Trip.
Does anybody have any experience with this item yet?

Hmmm, this is the first I've heard of these... I really like how they aren't big like most links...these look more scale to me... I'm interested to see how well they hold up for you...

Specs don't mention anything about stainless, just "steel".

Correct. In fact a friend of mine is having it since a few weeks and there is no rust by now.

I really like that setup, it's not bulky. You can check with a magnet as stainless is not magnetic

Not exactly, that's another myth with a little truth mixed in. Some series/grades of stainless are in fact magnetic, some much more than others and some not at all. It depends on the iron, chromium, nickel, etc. content in the particular alloy.

And while I'm in here, steel that's been pickled (it's not what you think) and passivated will not rust as easily as one would think. Some of the harder tool steels and some polished bare steels will also resist rusting to some degree.

As for the Xtra Speed linkage, "heavy duty steel" may not be a bad thing, as most stainless steels are softer/weaker than most carbon steel alloys. It all depends on the grade of the alloy.

I hope they work good for you, my guess is that the metal rod ends go first though. If they do just through some Revo rods ends on and you'll be set.

Just $11 for the kit at RC Mart. You could probably find it on e-Bay or Amazon too. nahuebsch82 posted the RC Mart link above (post #8 ).

nearer $ 17. if shipping from Hong Kong is accounted for.

I was almost checked out... when I realized.

I'd prefer to buy USA made products when I can.
