Eric the hoods you have linked look different unless vengeance has done some trimming? The V2 wedge looks a lot like it but looks like it has a grill

| Re: Problem Child To me it looks like the V2 Wedge cut straight across the front to remove the grill area. I never noticed a gril-less hood from Dinky, but there may have been one that got discontinued before I started looking at their site.

Wish I could be more help. I bought 1 of each V1, V2, V3 over a year ago and none have mesh. They only differed by size of the cowl. Bringing the pain since 1968 |

Ok so today I was reminded WHY I love beadlock rims so much. Had to glue on my 2.8 SandPaws to the rims for FOFF mode. Know what I found out? I still hate glueing tires. That was however after I duct taped the inside of the tires so they didn't expand so much when under full throttle. I also swapped out my 13t pinion for a 15t pinion for more top-end as the low-end was crazy torquey. Is torquey even a word??? And installed the hood pin system. I need to get some thin steel wire to connect the body pins to the washers however. Lastly will be mounting the fuel cell and swapping out the purple countersunk washers and shock spacers with matching lime-green ones. Reworked the hood pins today for little more scale realisim. Later I will replace the black wire on the hood clips with small gauge steel wire like our winches use. For now though I used black servo wires and ca'd the ends. Not sure how long they will hold up but they seem to handle me pulling the pins out. The black washers are from Axial rims I had lying around and ARE bolted onto the hood. The pins themselves are the old stand-by Traxxas battery pins but I had to shave them flat on two sides for the hardware holding the washers on to clear. Now that she is pretty much finished I will most likely use her for trail and crawling//KOH driving. I never planned on putting a winch on the front but will most likely do so and remount the Gearhead 6-Shooter LED array currently on the front bumper. Quick update... Other than installing the race harness this truck is done. I took her to the ocean a couple weeks ago and was very pleased how well the rig did in the sand without paddles. Here are a few shots... Bringing the pain since 1968 |

I dig the build man. How do you like the BGR towers? I am about to order a set myself.

For hill climb I can drop the rig pretty low. For more articulation I can raise it up. The BGR parts are pricey but worth it if they suit your needs. The Mud Slinger XL tires have really surprised me by their versatility. They handle deep sand well, rock climbing, etc... The only other tire I would contemplate using on the rig is the Ottsix Voodoo U4. Bringing the pain since 1968 Last edited by Vengeance; 10-02-2015 at 09:33 AM. | |

I'm so jealous of your shock towers. Can you run a battery plate with the front? I've got a lot of shit under the hood. |

I really like those mud slingers. I've been wanting to get a set for a long time. Are you running wider cans on those beadlocks? They look great with those tires.
